Fortress pulse-explosion
"Yes I can. You have to assume Im outright lying to discard it. Apparently you do thus assume Im outright lying? Please be clear about this. And you didnt give meaningful proper answers to my most of questions either. And to none of my questions in this latests post. In contrast I detailed my testing properly in this thread. "I have put in significant effort to properly test this. How about putting in some little effort yourself instead? Some mods are really easy to test with suitable char, like "Wither" or "Hinder" map mods. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

" I understand the terrible mentality.....but these threads are a dime a dozen. "Why am I dying", "This game is full of one-shots", "Blahblah its overtuned". CLEARLY defenses DO feel rewarding....because with even a small amount of them all of these threads would disappear. Starting anew....with PoE 2

Highest damage roll taken within ~50 hits from the pulse without map mods (999):
![]() First damage roll taken from the pulse with the map mods listed below (1603): ![]() Map mods (can't test crit since I'm immune): ![]() Conclusion: - The pulse is affected by monster specific map modifiers. - The pulse has a rather small damage roll range. - The physical portion of the pulse is somewhat high. - Toforto's build is still bad. |

I don't see a problem with map mods affecting map mechanics. It's the same thing for even the Bismuth tornados, Strongbox ice novae etc. so if anything it's consistent with GGG design philosophy and expected. The all types of damage wave from Fortress really just serves to highlight critical weaknesses in people's builds they otherwise get to cushion with DPS.

" Yeah, well if its phys is high that makes sense cus I literally have 0 armor or evasion, and just 75% resists. So I take the full hit with my 2700 hp and 500 es+1k arcane cloak up sometimes. I'm sorry, but not all of us have a 25k ES mageblood multi-mirror meta build. The game should not be balanced around the 0.1% top players. Also my build is perfect for all the content I wanna do with it, they just decided to put literal unavoidable damage in this one random mechanic to punish anyone not playing some HC build that facetanks everything in the game. These kinds of design decisions is what makes the meta boring. Not everyone wants to play tanky, slow builds. Nor can everyone farm literal hundreds of divines for the overpriced gear of these OP meta builds. Like yeah obviously you won't feel the hit with 25k es lol, try playing the game with 3k life,75% resists and literally 0 other defenses except MoM and arcane cloak then see if you can even complete a hive fortress. |

"Normally builds have that by the time they enter white maps. Your argument is invalid. I, for one, don't like pressing too many buttons. That doesn't make me unskilled, lazy, complacent or whatever other descriptor you are trying to pluck from your vocabulary. - Unknown philosopher, ca. 2025 Last edited by Celestriad#0304 on Jan 13, 2026, 8:52:20 AM

" Fact. If I have less than 3k life when I finish the campaign, something is wrong with my build. |
|
" People in SC shouldn't be forced to play HC builds. That's not fun, and makes the meta bland. |

" You don't need to play a hardcore build. You just need to play a build that isn't bad The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" My build can literally do 6/7 ubers, all content I want,40/40 every league etc. etc. Glass cannons are perfectly viable in this game, they just put a random mechanic that completely disables the 1 advantage my build has in hive fortress. Oneshotting the thing before it can hit me. Like yeah, sometimes I walk up to a pack of white mobs and they hit me once and I die. Or I still flamedash into a pack randomly and die, just SC things. That's what I'm playing, and I refuse to play some tanky, slow build that doesn't delete bosses in 0.1 seconds. I enjoy pressing 1 button to win and trivializing all boss mechanics, that's whats fun to me. Being overpowered. If a boss takes more than 3 seconds to kill/phase I'm not interested. |
