No matter how many nerfs to loot to make it feels depressing and low effort league content like Breach I will still never play PoE2.
I simply do not want to rolldodge in my RELAXING autistic excel sheet netflix watching simulator.
To me Poe2 is the new shiney kids money grabing game.
I hope in a decade or so some indie game dev gonna make "Spiritual successor of Path of Exile" and PoE2 becomes nowaday Diablo4 or whatever garbage Blizzard has gotten out. Its funny how this thing goes in a circle, eh?
it's better to play and get used to poe2 now.
poe2 is the better game and eventually, poe1 will be decommissioned and there will only be poe2 around.

it has the better campaign and the better graphics, that is it. that is all there is.
They decided to make an abysmally bad crafting system to make players play longer and force the most use poop items. Most poe 2 endgame enjoyers probably just rmt.
Look at this one guy who gets banned all the time on twitch. He just sticks to poe 2 with his rmt crafting. I wonder why that is, even though the crafting system in poe 1 is ten times better... No normal player can afford all these omens and stuff in poe 2. In poe 1 you can at least buy fractured bases and craft a decent item yourself.

As someone who thought the dodge roll looked painful to use before I played it, I actual found it to be quite good to use. It's not much different to spamming a movement skill, but has a bit more utility.
No one is forcing you to play POE2. If you're concerned about the games becoming to alike, fair enough. I think its good if one has more active game style than the other. There are some things I've noticed this league that headed a bit towards POE2, which I hope they keep the games different as they are currently. There's no need for two similar games. Some aspects will work in both, others not as much.
The real problem with rolldodge design its that it's anti-thesis of one of PoE core pillar design where Chris have stated somewhere that it's were made to "play while watching TV"
It's the hands-off and relaxing nature of PoE that drew me and many other people in.
And the nature of rolldodging is FOCUS. It requires focus and bit of skill to dodge bosses and monsters attack. And no, I absolutely do not want to put more FOCUS in my PoE game. I play it relaxing while concocting in my head what's the next upgrade for my build, which unique would make sense, while having Archer 2009 TV show on my second monitor.
I am already tensed up and stressed out from my 10 hours work and do not want any more tension, hyping up to dodge or die on the next boss slam. It's stupid and silly and childish. And if I ever want that experience I'd play Dark Souls and Elden Ring and I am a Soulsfan, I have Dark souls 1,2,3 Sekiro Elden Ring on my Steam, with over 350 hours on Dark Souls 3 and 10s of runs on it. Trust me I can parry Champion Gundyr 100%, I can dodge your shitty knockoff Soulike wannabe ARPG Johnathan, so it's not about "skill".
The entire design, is anti-thesis to core pillar design in PoE 1 and what I find it good and unique and suits my playstyle.
I know it's easy to fall back on Chris' words. He was the GOAT for many reasons.
All of those promises that Chris made over the years are now meaningless though. The spirit of the company that we all felt like we knew is now gone, it left with Chris...and Bex, and Hrishi and everyone else.

Muscle memory is my main issue. After playing PoE 2 for some time I press Space bar in PoE 1 instinctually sometimes.
Yeah that is true, i've been using space bar heaps now, didn't realise this was the reason before reading your post. I was using it a bit before POE2 for force move and drop portal, but now I'm using it all the time. Currently have it mapped for grafts. Probably would be going back the other way too if I play more POE2. Happens for me with other games as well.

Yeah I get your point. I'm not particularly mechanically gifted, so when this was revealed to be more of an emphasis in POE2, it was not particularly enticing for me. Since playing it, I found it to be much less of an impasse than I thought it would be, and actually found it enjoyable overall. Can understand if this is a no go for some POE1 players though, it is a shift from most typical isometric ARPG loot based games. There are aspect that are less relaxing currently, beyond just this, there is a lot of grindy gameplay, boss encounters for example, sometimes not that difficult, but drawn out.

It's ok guys. They will eventually turn POE2 into POE1 and then you will have no choice but to play POE1 somehow :)

Guild Wars 1 is still around, Jagex has OSRS and RS3, WoW runs classic versions alongside retail. And I'm downloading PoE1 now :p
Dodge-rolling is the main thing I've seen mentioned for PoE2, and a story set in the future of PoE1. I'm in no rush and still want to finish PoE1's story, and prefer mitigating damage traditionally (shields, defense %) vs trying to avoid it within fast-paced chaos ( works for a controller with Diablo 3 but even Blizzard didn't bring that to PC K/M)
I'm not against PoE2 though; I'll play it eventually :p

My issue with the idea of a dodge roll is that it becomes mandatory, regardless of class. Path of Dodge Roll. And this was all because Jonathan didn't want players to rely on movement skills in combat. =9[.]9=

Exactly! I crafted some high-end items in the last league in POE 2, and it's ridiculous how expensive it is. All the omens that people need are so rare, and the prices are so high that a casual player could never enjoy the crafting system. I thought the idea was to simplify crafting on POE2. But the result is an even larger barrier to endgame crafting than it was in POE1.

different game WHY?
Who asked for PoE2 to be "a different game"?
It was supposed to be a continuation of PoE1 acts.
Everybody loves PoE1, why the "different game"? I personally did not support PoE1 throughout the years just to have GGG take the money and develop "a different game" then forsake the PoE I love.
What is the target audience for the difference?
Exactly my point, it's a shiny children game to attract impressionable young kids on Twitch who play every games for 2 weeks and move to a new FOMO twitch game. "OMG ITS ELDEN RING DIABLO" will get old fast, just watch.
