Act 3 needs to be remade.

I mean act 1 is okay, act 2 is a bit worse (probably some areas are unnecessary), but act 3 you really need to be motivated to play it knowing what's waiting for you. It's not about map being large - because it could be fun like for example straight layout like in old MU Online Blood Castle - long bridge covered with hords of enemies. It's about feeling bad hiting every corner of it, dead ends with no rewards, that just slows you down all the time. The game really is forcing you to not have fun for some reason and it's not even close to Dark Souls perspective which is playable (it's completely different feeling of pain). It's beautiful but I very rarely have a good feeling playing it which makes it really hard to replay it again and again. Maps and other parts of the game somehow lack of gameplay - I don't feel like I'm playing a game but kind of have a job you know. I think the GGG need to closer analyse Dark Souls balance of pain and fun if they really want to go this way (which in my opinion is super hard task to imitate masterpiece correctly). ARPGs have its own very strong points and I'm not sure if that's necessary. The game itself and Act 3 need very drastic changes and unfortunately we don't get them. New animations doesn't really have any impact on this problem.

we are on the same page.. i really wan tto play poe2 but don't want to do those boring quests up and down.
act 2 3 4 are bad

quitted literally after 3 hours

An alternative way to level up and map for the endgame cant be created untill they finish the 6 acts.

So the only option for them is to tune those acts to be better .

We know the issue in Act 3 and 4 right now and they need adjustments.
No need to change anything. Some people love the campaign, some hate it. And not any amount of change to "simplify" the campaign will be enough for those who hate it and will only make this worse for those who love it.

Maybe one day, they will add a skip feature but:

- You will still need to complete it one time at each new league start (because Starter League Speed Running is a thing)
- It will probably not happen until 1.0 as the whole campaign and end game need to be figured out first.

I don't get the complaining. Do you want to play an Action ROLEPLAY Game or not? Besides, you know, acting out a character and a class in a story and a world, like you do in roleplaying, the point of Arpgs is to embody the whole "the journey is the goal" philosophy. You start out weak, you level up, you progress your gear, your skills, etc.

Have you ever played D1? You know the grandfather of this genre. Or even D2? The foundational game of this genre? You don't have endgame there, you don't have mapping, you don't have currency, you don't have crafting.

This genre is fundamentally not about div/h power zooming the same 15 maps over and over. Yet after 15-20 hours of actual arpg campaign gameplay you get it anyway. So what are you whining about? If playing the game causes you such dread maybe this is not the game for you

I played both Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. I finished Diablo 1 maybe 4 times over several years, and Diablo 2 once. Same with Nox. There's only so many times i can listen to Griswold complaining about having seen his friends being slaughtered.

PoE is a seasonal game which supposedly can be played over and over for years, and therefore the endgame IS the game. There is no way around it.
Joke's on you - Act 3 was also the worst in D2
Am I the only one who hate going back in town to sell at the end of act 3 ?
It's take so long... Or am I missing something ?

yeah idk why they made it like:
You have to TP back, walk around a half-circle to make it to the time portal, and then back again?

maybe the time gated area should be another layer like the subterranean layer

Yeah, it is. And the campaign is there to gear you up, ramp your passive tree, set up your skill and support gems. Takes 15-20 hours and your good to go. On replay with additional characters in a season you'll get it down to under 10 hours. Idk what you want? Put in the game at level 65 with lvl 14 skills, each with 3-4 support gem sockets and an assortment of gear to be able to map?
I don't mind Act 3 although some areas are bit too long for their theme. I can understand a city being a big place but why is a cave full of snakes so massive?
