ascendancy trials are TRASH content.

I don't know why people take the time to respond to this thread saying "well I have fun, get better", I'm glad your having fun, a lot of us are not. If you're going to try and undercut the points being made here, tell us how you are playing different to have fun in these trials if you really think its the playstyle or skill that is the delta here.
I think most people understand that you can learn how to optimize both the chaos and sek trials, but this is boils down to fun. If someone plays 20 hours on a character they clearly are willing to learn all the rules of PoE; if that same player is unwilling to learn the trials, or play them once they've learned the rules then I think the trials are to blame. The trials have a massive departure from the fun that most people have in the main game, and I would argue that is fine but it blocks mechanics that are very fun. I have an level 79 oracle that only has 4 points in their ascendency and I am just dreading earning the points either way. I know I can clear them, I've run the chaos temple about 30 times this league and lost my progress twice, but it is just so poorly designed. It would be one thing if this was just about power, and clearly the ascendancies lock a lot of power behind them, but some of the most interesting mechanics are hidden behind these trials. The trials are not fun, and they lock some of the coolest content behind them, I think that is poor design and it makes me want to play the game less. |

" Oh the contradiction. If you can't get the points 5 and 6 at level 79, you clearly don't know what you're doing. |

Quitting because of the trials is like the ultimate "this is not the game for you" message that is being displayed for you.
Something that takes an irrelevant amount of time in the grand scheme of things, is not hard at all, already has seen nerfs, brings you massive reward. "quitting before I even complete the campaign" is just telling you to maybe play something else. Especially if its multiple times a league too. Why did you come back for the fresh start private if you quit in the campaign due to ascendancy trials 🤣 Theres no need to add-on a complete contradiction of "I even run the highest juiced content in the game" When that is clearly not the case, as youre getting no diffed by the campaign trials Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Feb 21, 2026, 2:06:12 PM

Wait, what?
I can delete any pineapple boss in the game and run the juiciest T16s. Sure, some of those maps get spicy, but it's still normal PoE difficulty - build it right, play it right, you win. Then I walk into Trials and suddenly I'm getting periodically slapped around by a completely different rulebook, like I accidentally queued for a rogue-like inside my ARPG. People can call it a skill issue if they want, but I'm not going to pretend this is the same kind of "learn the fight" challenge. This isn't "git gud", it's "git used to a weird mandatory minigame". If the endgame is a power-and-mechanics check and Trials are a roulette of punishments stapled onto ascendancy progression, that's not good difficulty - that's bad design. |

You do not need honor resist, regardless of melee or ranged.

Amen brother, amen. The Trials are the number 1 reason I haven't played the game since January last year.

" Everyone know endgame POE2 is just POE1, it's not exactly the thing POE2 originally meant for. " You are wrong, these trials ARE designed for POE2. It's not bad design at all, it is what POE2 supposed to be. POE2 supposed to be a git gud game, instead of 95% PoB, 5% gameplay. Last edited by Exilion99#5481 on Feb 22, 2026, 6:22:20 AM

" LITERALLY ported from poe1. stop trying to present your made up numbers and 'facts' like they are real. they arent and nobody shares your personal delusions. |
