Abyss Enemies feel way too Overtuned

Why do you think he is wrong?

The fact that they think the entire game is rng.

Crafting isnt really rng though for many of the powerful items. Basically most main hand weapons, most armour pieces, most amulets, most rings....

Its only down to perfect items with top tier rolls where RNG actually comes into play.

Loot drops sure.

Nothing else really. The OP thinks nothing is skill based. And that them dying to abyss is just a roll of a dice. Rather than anything on their end.

Basically off the deep end entitlement.

Sry to say that, but all crafting starts with RNG, a gamble of spamming something to get something or with dropping the right base.

If you can say that while playing SSF I might be shocked but I would listen to you. But I doubt that you could make it there.

Loot drops for some... like literally, some get good loot and others don't. I would say my luck in dropping valuable things is pretty bad in PoE 2 and getting better stuff from vendors is also shit. :,D

Every league so far I struggled with getting through the campaign and I know pretty much anything about the game, cause I played every league like 10 - 15 characters, I help people with their OP chars as much as for planning characters which are worth several 1000th of divines if not even hundreds of mirrors.

But I am not so delusional to think that I could make it there with my luck or without going with the stream and playing meta builds.

Since defenses atm are kinda RNG except you stack crazy amounts of ES, it is RNG to fight Abyss monsters. Especially cause there are still the no recovery degen, shroud walker enemies which render melee completely useless.

I am aware that we can have just different opinions and I am also aware that crafting has in some sort deterministic steps, but any crafting so far starts with RNG and end with it, the steps in between may be not so RNG, but there is little to anything quaranteed from crafting atm.
Do you know what even killed you?
they've always felt stronger, which they should because they're a special event.
some of the mods on the mobs should definitely be re-worked though -- looking at you OP regen hp mod lol
Yeah. The rare abyss monsters are more difficult then other rare monsters.

There are several mods that are quite strong, like ground degen, or life regeneration. There's a mod where they only take damage if you fight them in a the cloud. However, at least on PS5, there's no way to know what those mods do. You have to search online to understand it. That's a huge fail. Combine that with every effect being green, you often don't know what type of damage a hit does either.

The hit box of biggest abyss monsters makes mana siphon aura incredibly stupid and annoying. It also makes fighting them on some maps very difficult.

But yeah compared to rare mobs during maps, abyss rares are way harder, are always found in more difficult terrain, and come with a lots more basic mobs.

However, if you have Armour with lots of ways to reduce elemental damage, you likely won't notice this is.

Exactly like are we just suppost read minds lmfaooo and know exactly what to do at every given moment, The game needs to have an information guide kinda like grim dawn, When you encounter an enemy and kill it?
You should get a journal entry where you can read about it and possible
attacks/resistances and how to best combat them, But I know we aren't gonna get that, Even reading the POE2 database none of this is clear?

I just wish we could actually read what the mods do in and what the icons mean in the little tooltip menu when you pause the game (R3 on PS5/controller when paused). Like, I can read what my buffs/debuffs/ailments/whatever little boxes are, but I can't for the enemies?

I still don't know what the icon that the Lost Men have in Mastodon Badlands and The Bone Pits means.

Like, some of them you can highlight and they'll tell you, but some of them you can't? It's weird and inconsistent.

Me? I say power like his comes with a cost... and it's never the one wieldin' it who pays." - Delwyn, re: Doryani

Thank you glad we're on the same page

I hope POE never adds any journal that says "heres what the mob does and the damage type and everything for you"

Like its WoW or something

Fact of the matter is you have to learn as you go. And if you die, thats something to learn from. Especially if its over and over again like the OP seems to have going on
Mash the clean
Kind of hard to learn why you died when you don't know what killed you because there was no way to tell though.

And it doesn't even need to involve dying. I just want a way to tell what a mod or a buff on an enemy means without having to pause the game and look it up on my phone.
Most of the (non Abyssal) mods are self-explanatory, but not all of them.
Abyssal mods are nonsense. Which I'm sure was intentional.

That said, the Torvian ones went too far. They should say what the buff is, but I noticed they now tell you how to stop it, too. My favorite part about that fight the very first time I fought him was accidentally figuring how to stop them.
