4L typical support minion setup = AG, Spectre, 2 x defensive supports (or empower).

New setup: AG (corrupted with defense support), Spectre (corrupted with defense support), 1 x defense support (or empower), 1 congregation (for +1 spectre). Even though AG doesn't benefit from congregation, he still has pretty much the SAME defensive setup as pre-3.28 setups because he will be enchanted with the support that would have gone in the link that congregation now takes.
No net loss of sockets (in traditionaly socket-starved minion builds), same or comparable stats PLUS a whole extra spectre.

You could even get TWO extra spectres, 5 base (3 gem, 1 tree, 1 delve gear) + 40+% level 4 corrupted congregation. You probably wouldn't do that if you were going for dps minions because those builds tend to require specific chests, but its still possible if you can fit it in.

TBH with you i did not get what you want to link with what. You are not very clear. you wrote it like you want to do 10 link item ofc if i dont know how much links u can have in helm/chest and the others. But I can assure you he did not do any personal attacks, i doubt he even cares what you say tbh.

Well yea sure, not many offensive options beyond a certain point but TONS of defensive options. More auras / defenses via spectres you maybe haven't used before (but can now) means more gearing flexibility overall. Leading to potentially more damage output too. If having an additional spectre means you get a free Determination aura or free Purity aura or free regen/damage reduction that you wouldn't have otherwise....that's pretty darn powerful for a single support gem.

Granted: I was only commenting on the fact that you COULD add a second Congregation for even more spectres. It's always a choice whether its wanted or not. I was just illustrating how the gem could be used beyond DPS which seems to be the only focus of the OP.



To the comment above....incorrect statements will get called out. This thread is wrong. It is wrong on all accounts. The descriptions and rationale is wrong. The statements about minions are wrong. It is a disservice to the community at large to let it stand uncontested. And when more incorrect things follow (on quite a grand scale), then you bet I have a problem.

And so I will contest it. Vehemently. Especially when given pushback as if I don't know what I'm talking about when I provided examples.

Not only that, but I was responding to Big's post about HIS setup...it wasn't even me suggesting anything new. Plus...I described exactly what the links look like. Count them.

My posts are clear enough: I suggest you take a bit more time and re-read them if you truly cared about the content. Confusion comes because people are trying to comment on things they know very little about. It's not my clarity that's an issue......it's the knowledge-base of those reading it.

And if it truly was confusing...........ask for clarification. The response to the "confusing" post you mentioned literally makes zero sense in ANY scenario. It has no connection to any part of what I wrote. But guess what? I DID clarify it because obviously it wasn't understood by that person.

The thought of making an every spectre aurabot has crossed my mind.

If my mafs are right, you can get to 5 from gem level and talents, +1 from the shield, doubled quantity from the hat, then to 152% more from the convening gem in a proper chest...should theoretically add up to 30 spectres. That should easily cover all of the itemized ones and most of the wild ones.

I...don't think this mafs are right hehe. 3 from gem level, 1 from tree for 4 total. +1 (or +2) from gear mod = 6. Doubled = 12. 12 x 1.38 (the number given to us) = 16 spectres. Maybe 17 with a corrupted lvl 4 cong depending on the value.

Partly yes, partly nah. I had thought spectre picked up a 4th naturally in the mid 30s, which is attainable with standard minion kit, but quick double check yields that yeah 12 before putting on the convening gem...apparently level 37 is not a new breakpoint, the every 12 levels thing stops at 25.

So you get your convening gem corrupted to level 4, stick it in a dialla's red socket to push 6, corrupt dialla's for +1 and +2 minion to get it to 9 (convening does have minion gems in the tags, so it picks up both implicits). Assuming it retains 19% more per level, which there is no reason to expect otherwise, that ends up at 152% more minions. Result is 30.

That's a pretty wild assumption. It assumes that it starts with 0% at level 1 and scales linearly. My expectation would be it starts at 28% or 30% and then scales with maybe 4-5% per level.

Empower, Enhance and Enlighten all start at 0 benefit on level 1, but we have seen some of the new exceptional gems at level 1 and they all do something. So 0-19-38 is probably not the way it'll work.
