Chrome is the only way to fly...
I used to use FF before that, and well, FF has some nice addons that chrome doesn't have yet.. but Chrome has proven to be faster at literally everything I do. If you have account problems please Email Support

I always wonder why ppl care about "speed" of the browser.
Difference in speed of rendering page is pretty much non existent. 0.03 sec vs 0.05 sec or sth similar is pretty much nothing. All in all speed is about your connection (routing - ping especially) not browser performance. You would waste 10 more time in searching for buttons/options or configuring browser to your needs than you would waste for waiting for pages to render. ergonomics (usability) >>>> speed
" Because: >Mac BTW i use firefox and sometimes chrome. El infierno es vivir cada día, sin saber la razón de tu existencia.

I don't know Ness i will have to disagree when i switched to FF4 i found it to be noticeable faster on different connection types. Also there are other things differentiating browsers other than looks. Plug-in support and others.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

switched from?
on both browsers they were rendered "on the fly" not after all data were loaded? It might be the case :> I feel no difference in speed between ie 7.x ff 3.5.x and opera 10.xx/11.xx. They're rendering pages a bit differently but overall speed till page is fully loaded is pretty much the same. I even tested chrome to see what's so awesome about it with the same result. Unless you got some weird config it shouldn't be any visible difference in 'speed'. I consider comparing browser by speed as a gimmick, some claim they are faster by 20/30% than others which stands for 0.01 sec or some other silly amount of time 'saved'. It "sells" better than making browser gui well designed, you can compare it on the graph (exaggerated non-linear scale and certain color selection) to make it look even better.
" usability is >>> render speed, however speed is part of usability. There's render speed, launch speed, script speed, search speed, and also a realestate factor. If you look at chrome, you get fastest launch, fastest render, fastest script, fastest search (all in one bar,) and most realestate. You also get task manager which is invaluable, since all other browsers incur a massive cost when a plugin fails or you encounter a bad page/script. I probably have saved myself hours or days worth of time by using chrome as my primary and FF as my backup for anything that chrome can't do. " What is this? 2009? Try a browser that's been released sometime in the last month. If you can't tell a difference between a new browser and the crap lineup that you mentioned then there's something wrong. Maybe you're using dial-up in which case your problem isn't your 2 years old browser, it's your 30 year old technology that you call an internet connection. Forum Sheriff

Watch your tongue kid
I'm a bit too old to get in some kind of browser wars or similar stupid discussion. Besides you better try to read once more and comprehend before starting flame. I'm not comparing 2 yo browsers with new ones, just 2yo browsers between themselves. I felt no difference between them in terms of 'speed' at least in basic tasks, despite they were heavily marketed as faster better etc.. I won't bother myself to upgrade them to fresh rev to get same results. There's no visible difference between brands (ff, chrome, opera), it's all about marketing and you are a victim. Grow up. |
