Why is filter white items still in the game?
"You can still find plenty of white items of high value. I would never turn off white items even if maps didn't exist. |

I agree with the removal of the filter. Part of the enjoyment I have with the game is the complexity of the mechanics, of which one is learning the vendor recipes and the relative value of items. It is way more than just white/blue/yellow/brown. It has to do with sockets, quality, and links, which can be found on items in any of those colours.
People that believe that the only things worth picking up are yellow, gold (currency), or brown are missing out on a whole aspect of gameplay that veteran players are actually focusing on during end game. The path to build/find that 'perfect' item doesn't involve the colour of the item on the ground, but rather what that item has on it. "We were going to monitor the situation but it was in the wrong aspect ratio."

I would like the ability to filter out any arbitrary visual content I wish. Summons? Gone. Group members? Gone? Snakes? Gone. Where did that spit just come from?
Way more hardcore. |

" Remove spits and their damage and you have my support :P |

I still think its neccessary to be able to reduce the visibility of all the dropped stuff while fighting - especially in smaller areas ilke tall passages or in Kraityns camp; at least as long as such items are able to mask not only the ground you need to click for movement, but also to 'hide' the enemies that attack you. Its hard enough to aim exactly to hit (most but not only in melee) even without anything able to 'disturb' you!
I'm used to have white items disabled and also key use for pickup - but nearly always when not in combat I 'toggle' to see all loot; and the very most items I grab are white's ^^ I never had expected that maps, even white ones, were considered as the same as unmagic armours and weapons - at least not after their colour change... They are white, and have magic tiers too; but in general they are way more like orbs or gems; which are also not of a magical tier and not filtered out. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

Did none of the devs watch any of the group play during the 1 week race? I did a small number of runs in a full group and it was basically impossible to function with white items showing, and during smaller event like that, I don't have time to care about random white items like I would in a 1 month race or general gameplay.
Regardless of whatever arguments people have, it is never a good idea to remove options. If D3 taught other devs anything, its that more options = good. |

i think a detailed adjustable item filter would be great!
in endgame maps with a full party the screen is often filled with so many items that u cant see the environment/monsters behind the wall of text |

people should learn to press the z key... by default it's bound to switching show items on and off... if there are too many items on the screen while fighting, then press z so you can finish the fight before looting.

" Shhhhhh, You're asking a player to undertake an action to adjust the game to their preference....how rude don't you know it is the responsibility of anyone other than themselves to take care of that? Those who beat their swords into ploughshares, will plough for those who have not.

" Do you know where the z key is on a german keyboard? ^^ you would have to 'swap' your fingers across, flash over with the dumb or even use the right(!) hand... its much more practicable to have the left dumb on the Alt key. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011
