The -15% exp penalty is obnoxiously bad outdated design.

Old school feel. The only other few rpg,s ive actually enjoyed in a while is dark souls.
Hmm fancy that, another old school " hardcore " game.

I wish companies would bring out more games with the old school mentality.

In addition there are a lot high level hardcore chars which proof that it is entirely possible to play the game without dying once. This doesn't make dying and loosing 15% XP suck less, but it shows that it's not an unfair penalty for an inevitable death.

I'm really not picking on you - but this is the point....

People who want an easier softer game are going to quit. Probably before they even hit 100, or shortly thereafter. That is the 'thing' with people. Run through, 'win', and leave.

This is not what everyone else here will do. We'll be playing so long as the servers are running - unless they dumb the game down to the point it doesn't matter anymore, which is why we are fighting so hard to NOT dumb it down.

Because the people who are whining now won't be here 6 months, or even 3 months from now probably - regardless of any changes made. GGG could make this as simple as "Amazing Alphabet Matchup" and these people would still leave. Albeit the first out the door would be the people who don't want that.

THIS is why we don't want things stupidified - because those people won't stay anyway, and the game will be ruined for those who would have stayed, and played, and paid.

In other games - you get a cookie whether you win or lose. PoE not only takes your cookie and eats it in front of you, it slaps you upside the head a few times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Penalties are AWSOME, it adds this special Terror to a game.

I am an Oldschool Gamer, and before WoW came out i've played Everquest1 on a Red Server for 5 Years.
I know its a MMORPG, and not a aRPG...but it also had big penalties.

Exp Loss, 1 Item lost in a PvP death etc... you could even lose Levels with dying.
The Entire Gameplay merged the Community tight together, people helped each other in PvP etc.
Loot and Scoot rules, Guilds coming to your aid etc..

Ahh good old times.
Please dont remove the Penalties GGG.

I would mostly like to know what people would rather have the death penalty be. There has to be a penalty and it has to actually mean something, otherwise deaths mean nothing and there's no tension at all.
