Item Rarity - a stat no one likes
I just wish they merged IR and IQ into a stat called Magic Find or something like that. I hate that they're separate stats. Really hate it.
Implement /players x already

I love how your thread title states no one likes it. I guess you asked everyone then? Well.. you missed me. I like it fine.
In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

" Why? They're quite different things. Increased Item Quantity is not the same thing as "magic find", as it increases the number of currencies and white items that drop as well (and white items can be useful!). Increased Item Rarity could be called "Magic Find", but this name makes it clearer that all the items which drop will be rarer, not just that additional magic items will be added to the things which drop. I guess the separation of the affixes means that they do more to get in the way of the more useful stats on gear, but this would be an issue of item balance that would have to be adjusted globally, if it needs adjusting at all. " i know, only quality counts for orbs. have been luckier with gear though. and i forgot to mention a exalted i found but applied instantly. if you say that's a fair outcome for the time played, ok, i have no comparison, that's why i posted the stats. i always put more weight into resistance and life properties on gear, but will try to build some mf gear in the future nevertheless. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Im sorry but D3 didn't show me that. D3 showed me alot of things tho. It sure showed me the wrong way to make a true ARPG thats for sure. D2 on the other hand showed me that MAGIC FIND is a great stat to increase odds of getting rares/uniques. Simple as that really..... Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Feb 26, 2013, 11:33:15 AM

" If you find another exalted orb in the future, I would recommend not spending it, but instead attempting to trade with other players for the gear you want. At least you should be able to get a 5L chest for that. There are rare exceptions, but far more often than not, the sale value of an item won't be increased by a whole exalted orb when you use one up, and players tend to value the orbs a good deal more highly than their actual function would suggest (perhaps because the value needs to be based on the value of the outcome in the most ideal cases of use, as well as the rarity of the orbs themselves). |

To put it as simply as possible
Magic find causes inflation |

I have always hated the stat. Having to basically have two different gear sets for no good reason but to just have more grind for the sake of more grind. Its stupid, always has been in my opinion. Its funny I have never ever used a magic find set in any of these types of games and still somehow managed to get good gear. Its a stupid unnecessary stat that just wont go away, luckily like i said its not so important you cant progress without it but I would sure like to see something actually useful put in its place.

Yep, that's all I ever wore was mg gear here on my necro. Didn't need sp (basically close to nothing) or a lot of hps (600hps) as my minions cleaned house on end game maps while finding a lot of nice shinies; old EQ2 player here :) One of the nice advantages I must say of being a necro. But those days are over - all of the good shit (legacy items) were removed a long time ago from the game and we have "ok" stuff now; awww... I remember my daggers and armor *sob* - they were so "efficient" lol!
The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji? | |
I think they should remove IIQ/IIR completely and not raise drop rates. I'd rather have a game world with *less* amazing gear that grows slowly over time than a game world saturated with it in the first month as we currently have it.
