Extreme Lag Spikes
How the HELL should I do a tracert while I lag? I maybe lag for 1 or 2 seconds in random intervals.....
Please only reasonable suggestions. And as a thing, in NO OTHER online game I lag like that... so I can scarcely believe it is my ISP. OS: Win 11

Ah okay, whatever.
There is a general thing to ask: If I play World of Tanks, I don't get those lags, or if I play league of legends. If it would be my ISP, wouldn't it lag in every online game? maybe the problem is a node of the server system for european servers, because many people from the european server have the same problem.... And if it is really my ISP, what could be done about it? " The reason it could be your ISP, is because it's possible that they could be taking a bad route to the required server. If it turns out that, that is the reason for the lag spikes you could try calling them, and seeing if they'd be able to adjust the routing. The same reason holds true, as to why you may not experience lag playing other games. They aren't all going to the same server, so they each take a different route. When ever you experience a lag spike, open the client.txt, find the server IP that you are on, and run to it with WinMTR. How many times during say 5 minutes do you get these 1-2 second long lag spikes? If they are frequent enough, just let the tracert run for a bit after you get a spike, and then stop it after you get your next one. That will give much more information about what is going on. I've had a few spikes lately. Nothing major, but it makes things a bit scary (exciting?) when playing hardcore league (not that it matters though in beta I guess).
I noticed when my character first logs in, the first time I move almost always results in a "stutter-step". Right before this happens the audio seems to drop completely for less than a second when the loading screen is still there. Perhaps it is something to do with things not being 100% loaded in before control is given to the player during the transition. I don't really know. All I have to go by right now are the visual strangeness that occurs and the audio dropping out briefly. I've also had spikes on boss fights more than anywhere else in the game. I'll try to be more diligent in collecting evidence/data in the future. |

" This is what you have to do to determine what the problem is. If you don't want to do it, or find it hard or impossible... then you'll just never know more than likely. The point of knowing what causes it is to see if it's something you can control. All signs currently point to intermittent dropped packets, especially if your fps isn't dropping. In either case, the easiest way is to play in windowed mode, set up the trace, and if you lag, tab quickly and execute the trace. It might take a while to nail it. Now I saw something, the FPS drops for a millisecond when it lags, it is like a hiccup.
I didnt see that because I paid attention to the Ping. The drop of FPS is from 60 - 70 for 10 or 20 milliseconds to 3 or 4... and it doesn't seem to be my graphics card because I have a programm working in the background that records the current state of my graphics card... this is really ominous... " It wouldn't be if you would run the tests, as we have asked. Nothing more can be done to help you, until we have more concrete information, on what is happening with your connection to the game server. It's quite hard to come up with a "fix," if we don't know what the cause is, otherwise, we could sit in here for days, just trying random things, that may or may not work. Ign: Desync

Okay, I want to tracert, but I need a adress for tracert and I can't open the Client.txt while the game is open... so how should I be able to to check my Client.txt?

" You can open Client.txt with the game is open. It's just a text document, start the game, log into your character, then open the client.txt, get the last server you connected to, and run a WinMTR log to that server, let it run for 2-3 minutes, after you experience a lag spike, then post the results here.
