Respec shoud be free

It shouldn't be free, because your decisions have to matter. But maybe it should be cheaper (I dunno yet what is the state of gold / respec cost in maps)

You know what? that's actually a good idea
The whole, "your choice needs to matter" bs falls apart the moment devs can nerf or radically alter mechanics and skills without warning. Or you go up against a boss or situation that literally hard counters your build. The cost of redoing a build is already represented in potentially having to totally regear or reskill if the build is very specific. The only thing restrictive respeccing does is discourage experimentation and mistakes.

This is what I suggested as well, and is the perfect solution to the issue.
I agree. Resource scarcity as it is, and as dreadfully slow progress is, I will not roll the same class so I can try new build/pathing that should be absolutely explorable this early in early access - let people play with builds - make them interested in playing this game! I already don't want to play any other class - once I'm done with what I'm aiming for, I may not even load this game back up for another year! POE2 already doesn't respect our time and respec'ing at current costs makes things even more dreadful. We're all going in blind, don't punish us. I won't talk about how our ascendancy nodes are locked - thats a different matter. Better get it right at 30+ hours or you are starting all over again. Or not... I sure as hell won't be.

That's what I was thinking, its free, but with conditions...

Also would be cool if we could get a place were we could test builds, similar to what Lost ark did.

Very true i already swapped my first build that cleared the whole campaign the clear was ass but single target was good so i swapped to cast on freeze and i dont have any fun to be honest its not bad but its not fun for me and now next hotfix changes it and it will most likely will be even less fun after the hotfix XD


I farmed 8 hours to swap out the tree with a help of friends that sometimes thrown some rare items for me to sell and now i have to do that again to swap to another build which im not guaranteed to have fun no thanks im afk until that changes.
You don't need to pay in gold when you switch your skill and support gems. Does it take away the "significance of player's choice"? Does it break the game since you can actually switch skills on the fly based on enemies you're fighting?
No. You're encouraged to try everything out and experiment with skills and combinations freely.

I think it shouldn't be too much different with passive tree. Just allow people to try stuff out.

The only valid argument against free\cheap respecs is that people gonna respec for specific maps\bosses and it's super easy to solve - just add a time limit like you can get free\cheap respec once per hour or per day. Any respecs before time limit will just cost more.

That way you allow people to fix their builds and try something new without allowing to spam respecs every minute.

Pretty much a perfect solution i really hope it happends i want to play the game but i just hate it so much that the games wastes so much of my time for such a thing i rather waste my time to chase currency and craft gear and try to beat all pinnacle bosses thats what is fun about path of exile 2

Just to add to the solution make it so each 30 mins u can respec and when u dont have a respec available then make the user require gold to respec but still dont make it alot.
