Market actually ruins the game

"
I think, during my 11 years of playing PoE, that this is the topic that baffles me the most.

There are apparently some people who are stupid and entitled enough, that they think EVERYONE ELSE should also be miserable because they can't enjoy playing trade league.

Go play SSF and leave us alone. Nobody cares if your experience is bad or if you don't like it.

Nobody. Cares.

Pretty sure GGG will care when POE2 bombs down to sub 50K like POE1 did after having lost out on approximately 80% of their playerbase on a live service title.

To say a develeoper wouldn't care about losing the large majority of it's playerbase and potential income is hilariously disingenious.

Playing POE1 through the depression doesn't make you edgy that your a masochist, it just makes us feel sorry for you.
There are indeed people who are stupid and entitled enough that they don't understand, or are not able to understand, that SSF is balanced around trade and they can't stand that other people want a different thing because somehow that would affect their fun, even when it factually wouldn't in any way, shape or form, but still cry out that they can't have that because of a flimsy excuse such as "nobody cares", when it's painfully obvious a lot of people do.

Not being able to understand that for over 11 years makes it even more funny.
PoE2 is a trading game, optimized for that. That's why there's virtually no loot and SSF is ruthless. They don't want you to play that.
Play D4 (in co-op, solo sucks balls) or LE in solo-mode if you want an arpg experience, with loot.
If "Market Ruins the game"

Play SSF. Problem solved thread closed.

Just because you play solo doesn’t mean everyone has. I have a whole group of friends I am often mapping with someone of. It’s a multiplayer game.

Also, you feeling like you need to follow meta builds to follow the market is your own prerogative. Most things you might need to buy until late endgame are like 1 exalt anyway, any build can get the currency for it. IT IS OKAY TO NOT ALWAYS BE PLAYING HYPER-OPTIMALLY

My god it's like people don't even read.

I never said everyone does ClockworkShrew, and if you used your little shrew eyes to read that, you would've avoided making this entire post.

I also have NO effing idea where you came up with the second half of your post. Were you reading an entirely different thread in rage when responding to me?

I would stop playing if they removed trade. Full stop.

What if the game was incredibly good otherwise? Was the main draw for you the ability to trade?

One of the main draws in a multiplayer game is the ability to interact with others, yes.

If you don't like trading, don't trade - but don't take away the freedom of other players.

I wasn't talking with you mouser.

No one is forcing anything, I was asking them a question.

And this game will likely always have trade. It might just be limited to friends. Rather than an entire economy built around it.

What a developer wants you to do is meaningless. A salesman wanting you to do X with a product has no bearing on the customers wants. GGG wants people to trade? Sucks to be them when they lose over 80% of their players who don't want to deal with that. Either adapt your product or go under.

If they want us to trade then they would work HARD on making that experience intuitive, comfortable and efficient. Not have you go to a third party webside, security risks, having to interact with others (extra security risks) who might potentially not respond (time wasting) and the same goes for selling your items.

GGG would have to be the absolute most incompetent developer on this planet if that is what they want, people to trade, and this is what they provide.

Pretty sure they said crafting should matter on the game advertisements over the years and not "everyone has to trade".

But does not matter, trading is generally disliked and only metabuild players/trade cabals like it (in bed with guide creators to push what is meta for price fixing, age old trading thing I know all about this).

Trading should exist after all there are those who like it, crafting and SSF is just ass which is why the statement of the topics title exists. No reason to ruin the enjoyment of traders when wanting yours to be fixed when both can be happy, let us always keep this in mind.
