Player based will leave and this game will die out if they don't remove the XP Penalty
POE 2 is a better game than Diablo 4 and I definitely love playing it all the time.
GGG should have created an Elite Leagues or whatever they call it, just to filter out the players who have good and bad builds. Once you join/enter the Elite League you are no longer allowed to go back to the standard realm. From their you can level up to +100 and they can impose the xp penalty which is great right. Currently this game is putting a handcuffed behind the back of the player based by stopping their progression going to level 100. This will end up a large portion of the player based burned out, go rage and quit the game, and this will die out. Last bumped on Feb 8, 2025, 6:59:16 AM

What about a Baby league instead, where you just can't die ; instead of changing the rules of Softcore. If you can't die, no xp penalty, no map loss. And the lower the health, the darker your screen (scary!)

No it won't

no it wont..... and it's not going away. Deal with it. It's has done just fine over the last 12 years with it. I'm guessing you're just new to POE and think ppl are supposed to reach 100 for some reason. Like any build is done by the time you hit 85-90, getting to 100 isn't needed for anything besides to say you slogged thru it. Probably like .001% of characters will ever reach 100

No one will leave, because there is nowhere else to go.

I don't mind the EXP penalty on death too much. I mean, it's annoying, but it's probably there to prevent players from doing some "brute-force" attempts while leveling in endgame. Achieving level 100 is not even necessary. I never did in PoE1 (maybe one character at lvl 98 or 99, but never lvl 100), and I kept coming back nonetheless.
However, the playerbase will leave if the endgame stays as is, and if there is no new class/new content for long, but I don't think that most players really care about the EXP penalty. So far, I hate losing the map and its modifiers much more than the EXP penalty, and the higher your character level, the less you really care about EXP (unless you really really want to hit that level 100). I hope they come up with some alternate endgame mode that doesn't rely on maps and modifying/leveling an Atlas. Last edited by pyrocyborg#0256 on Feb 6, 2025, 6:25:07 PM

" " ??? What's wrong with you, I'm just proposing a fair alternative. What did I say that offended you ? |

" You're implying that those unhappy with the XP penalty (along with 4 other layers of punishment that are generally accepted) are babies. Sounds like a violation of the code of conduct to me - being antagonistic in an obnoxious manner. We're not asking for an easy mode/no deaths. " I think if you are asking for a Softcore league with no death penalties that's making it easier and even removing the point of dying. Which would be solved by having a no death league, simply put. A training wheels program, of sort. Other games do it. I think that would be great for the game and played by many, don't you think ? |
