Also, literally doesn't matter if you are SSF or off-meta. It is IMPOSSIBLE to play for that length of time and have nothing to show for it. It might not be a new piece of gear, but you certainly have materials TOWARDS a new piece of gear.

Either that.....or you have learned nothing about the game in 400+ hours. That's a YOU problem.

I'd also point out that there are plenty of players who can go YEARS without ever changing their gear. So what? This is pretty natural for character progression. You can always start a new character if the stagnance is too much.


You need to get at least the slightest bit of self-awareness my friend.

I know i could be playing spark.
I know i could be playing heralds
I know i could buy all of my gear from the store
I know i could be paying for carries


But I also know by not doing it and playing the game without the crutches.

When you finish playing
and your character is worse off than if you didn't play.
your time was wasted.

When for the time you were playing
You die to ground explosion you can't see, get stuck on geometry, or body bullied into a corner.
You fail trials because , No Evasion , No Energy Shield, Double Merchant prices,
Monsters hit 30% harder.

You picked up and orb slammed every piece of gear for days .... nothing.
The staff i use now I picked up 2 characters and 160 levels ago.

without buying gear fixing resists is a nightmare of gear roulette.

And I do it casue, I play the game , not the market, not the meta.

Im thinking ..... i do know what im saying.

Yeah I work from home, i leave it running often.
However.

The game is borked.
All i need to do is look at the top content creators of the genre.
They stopped playing weeks ago .

I give the feedback to GGG, i play non meta.
I shit post all over the game all the time in the areas that deserve it.
Most of the rage for EXP penalty is becasue the rest of the game has serious problems.

You dont see that outrage in PoE1 becasue the game is streamlined and more enjoyable.

GGG now has a sweaty, moderately enjoyable grid fest, with no benefit for doing it. The language of the game is about currency per hour, and not about fun exploration discovery or wins... chaos/hr divines/hr ... The trials are a jank shit piece of game that should have found a home in the recycling bin.

So why do people hate EXP penalty .
It's the straw, the one that breaks the camel's back.
The icing on the cake if you will.

After finding nothing
Not being able to create anything
Not progressing in maps

the Exp loss ... is just FU Im Done moment.
