Is the problem Jonathan?

The best was when Ziz brought up speed to campaign and Jonathan was like...why does it matter how quick the campaign goes if you're having fun.

That is the exact issue a lot of folk have said about this iteration of the game
Fun
This league and its direction has not been fun, it has not excited me to make more characters to explore what they have made
If you can't even get something as fundemental as fun correct, then you stand no chance having this model as your success

Without proper polls, feedback and Data we are just a bunch of passionate gamers bickering over stuff

I didnt have fun doing the campaign and definately wont do it again unless changes happen (POE model needs replayability to survive)
I did however have fun once i reached endgame, i have enjoyed those changes although tweaks are needed, but overall i enjoyed that

Most of the folks not having fun are the POE 1 veterns who are shocked its not POE 1. At least from what I see from people screaming into the void.

GGG also listens to the people who give critiques are always quick to act.
I think it's unfair to say that

The entire team is at ""fault"" at some degree, they made a new game but imported many things from poe 1 without a second thought if it would actually fit poe 2

We have league mechanics that don't fit poe 2 slower but intended gameplay:

Delirium = Be fast or don't get rewarded
Azmerian Wisps = Be fast or don't get rewarded
Breach = Be fast or don't get rewarded

Some ridiculous monster modifiers that were made to keep poe 1 players in track, on death and ground effects that takes forever to dissipate, outdated things like scroll of wisdom, light radius affix, prehistorical trade system, etc

Zizaran is the worst. I'll never forget how he kept trying to push for one-button builds pretending he cares about disabled people... the most yikes thing I've ever heard.

and here im taking a break from playing because i have a screwed up hand and its hurting bad. im not defending ziz, but dude be g'damn thankful you dont have a disability. just saying.

Agreed. Made GGG cave in into making stupid PEO 2 changes when in fact they knew better. Then still cried how bad PEO 2 is and ditched for LE where gameplay wise the game is on autopilot. If i was GGG, i'd never take an interview from him again.

Fun

There's a fundamental issue with that though as seen with LE launch. Some people find it fun when there is 0 challenge in the gameplay where mobs ignore you and you have 0 fears of death. And some people find fun in difficulty.

There's one thing good from that though, people now have a choice instead of asking POE 2 to be what it fundamentally wasn't supposed to be.

The trials.

The trials are just AWFUL.

I don't even care about getting the next two trials done.

The debuffs are way, way, way, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too strong. The honor bullshit is such a massive L. I was about to enter the final boss room on the third trial for my third set of points, and AFTER A LAG i got caught in one of those fireball stream traps. it took my honor from 99% to 0, and the whole trial failed.

And you have to start all over.

I'm so done with this shit.

NOBODY likes trials. Nobody.
I feel like people forget the basic rule of balance and EA. The game is not finished and they stated that heavy changes were gonna happen but people seem to have forgotten that. Secondly the first "league" was the test with everyone to see where everyone's progress and current stand is. It honestly makes a lot of sense to heavy nerf things in the next phase so they can better fine tune. It is a lot harder to balance down then it is to balance up. If things feel weak they can increase it, if things are far too strong you have to be careful with what you touch on it.

They did go heavy handed on the nerfs but i can almost guarantee you next "league" will be a full buff with some huntress nerf/tuning

Do not get me wrong i am in no way defending but i am a logical person and i also do not take an emotional stand point on things like a lot of people (every streamer) does. If i am going to cry over a game i should not be playing games. Voicing frustrations is fine but people like Rue are cringe AF screaming at the top of his lungs.

The game right now is fine, a little rough but fine. They have so much more room now to make upwards progress with this league. Hell you can even see the immediate effects of this patch versus last patch. We barely got anything last patch as it was the initial release. After this patch we got a heavy fudge ton that they felt better bringing into the game with how player power feels.

My only strife as of current is just the delirium pinnacle and the fact that elemental resists feel like they actually do not work in endgame or they are bugged at a certain threshold of like 60% as it feels no different than 80% when at 60%

I at first hated the trials but after playing them for awhile i like them. There is some tuning to be done but i see common mistakes people still make like just walking around traps or running through traps in hopes to magically ignore damage. I almost never see anyone roll through traps that are not ground based traps like the mines. Once you actually start understanding how the traps work you no longer worry about such things.

Chaos trials are a little different as there is no reward until you kill the boss of the floors. Chaos trials are the only trials needing a heavy rework as current corruption is pointless as a base item drop/reward

Ok, so... why has PoE2 obviously less build diversity compared to PoE1?

Are you literally trolling right now? I've literally said why in that post, another guy also pointed it out for you in between. I'm not going to repeat myself again.
So, there is no build diversity in PoE2 because ppl just copy the build from streamers? How does it come that we have build diversity in PoE1? Shouldn't all the ppl just copy streamers there too?

I mean, in 0.1 alone I had in end game an Infernalist, a Blood Mage, a Deadeye, a Pathfinder, a Warbinger, a Gemling, an Invoker, a Stormweaver and multiple other ones in early maps, all with multiple self-made builds, so yeah... I am someone who tests a lot.
This patch? I went for an Amazon because Ritualist was a buggy mess and lost interest pretty early, and a Lich where I tried multiple minion builds and played Essence Drain.

I've asked you about this patch and you proceed to tell me about last patch. Good start.

So you tried the new thing (Huntress) and the new thing (lich) and NOTHING ELSE and then complain about build diversity. Good stuff.

Oh but wait, you've given me some more key information here, you used essence drain. Surely not a skill used by everyone after seeing other people use it no? Oh.. wait..
Yes. Crazy. I tried to new stuff this patch first, when I basically played everything else in the patch before. Mind-blowing.

And I don't played more characters because the patch isn't good. It's that simple.

Btw, that I played "Essence Drain" on a Lich has nothing to do with it being "meta". You know, if you would think for a second, you would see the obvious synergy of ED/C and Lich.

Lets hope for all our sakes that they find the middle ground here and get both sides enjoying the game, as it should be.

Just as an addition i was never sold the game as poe 1 take 2
I was under the impression it was going to be a stand alone game, yet here we are with poe 1 at its core with better graphics but same ole end game and trials etc

If it looks like poe 1, acts like poe 1 and talks like poe 1 then its odds on folk are going to assume its poe 1

As i said my only gripe has been the campaign. Its not difficult, but at the difficutly level they have set for it then it is not rewarding, completely frustrating and didnt excite to play it again with another character.
Replayability was how poe 1 became such a leader in the genre.
I would love to hope POE 2 can find that same secret sauce again.
Been here since Open Beta.
