Is probably a "bubble" thing.
Sure. Saying "all in my guild play a different build, thus build diversity is real", means nothing. How "casual" are the ppl in the guild? Have they even reached the point where build diversity dies? Do they even understand what determines build diversity? At least from what I've read here... he is not aware.

This is a low point for this forum. Honestly. I like how permissive the mods are but everything needs a limit and this is just not constructive.

Here is what is REALLY constructive to POE - consistently supporting it over the years. We have the right to voice our frustration. Sure GGG does not owe us for our support, but we also do not owe our continuous support to them if they do not listen.
Well nothing against J, but this game needs a LEADER.
Someone like Jeremy Irons in Marginal Call.

If you know what I mean.

We are all literally running t16s and doing pinnacle bosses...

The problem is people like you want a clean and clear progression in place that you have to use 0 thought to create. When using "non-meta" builds there is a lot of thinking, understanding the mechanics of your character, and a freak ton of trail/error. I've wasted close to 900k gold since level 10 trying things and moving things around.

There are people out there literally running builds that are based around thorn damage so IDK what to tell you. Maybe hop off of streamers videos and use your brain?
Jonathan: This is my design.

8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

Cute... I literally spend millions to respec and test over a dozen builds.

You know why build diversity in PoE2 is poor, no matter what you think?
Restrictions.

Most skills are restricted to one single weapon type.
Most skills are restricted to one single archetype (spell or attack-based).
Most supports and "buffs" are, guess what, restricted to a specific archetype.
The list of restrictions is pretty long.

You think "You need to think about stuff and try things", without even realising that most stuff is already planned out by the devs with the restrictions.

Darling, PoE 2 is simplified and much more accessible exactly because of those restrictions. I like them. I really don't need 1000 builds for every skill like in PoE 1. Yes it is alot of freedom but also alot of mess. Oh my god I'm so happy for skills restricted to a single weapon type! Means that less builds? Yes but that's good imo. Also the game is still unfinished and alot of new things will come so I really don't worry about build diversity for the future.

I do agree that killing all support for poe1 was a very bad idea and its very understandable to be pissed off by that. I mainly am irritated by the doomer mentality of people acting as if poe2 is over due to one bad patch, I came in new to poe2 so I don't know too much of the history of poe1 development but currently it seems that their response to feedback has been very quick and targets a lot of the main points. I think the idea behind the game is to genuinely make combat a good mix of can rush through but not like everything is made of paper or takes 100 hours to get to actual difficulty, but I think that's just a very hard thing to do especially when running off of what is apparently a lot of stuff ported from poe1 (idk how true that is but i've heard a lot of people saying that and they'd know better than me). I just have a lot of faith since I can see a really good game here and I truly hope that comes to fruition.

Look the GGG is known for their responsive changes and making good game. I am sure they will make poe2 pretty good. The issue is that they are making same mistakes for no good reason. I also disagree with Jonathan's vision in some key parts but that is my my personal problem. Don't let this thread to push you way from poe2. It is a good game, it is just quite a bit worse then poe1 right now, i dont see it steering towards becoming better then poe1.

this thread dont push me away from poe 2.
poe 2 do.

thats not good.
game is unfinished? huh?
we have: +1 weapon type, +4 ascendancies, +100500 support gems, +100500 new uniques....
and guess what?
meta builds reduced from 2 to 1. viable builds reduced from 10+ to 3. 2 of them with spear.
