Maven memory game feels stupid

I have slight color blindness with red and green. I hate the simon says mechanic.... makes the whole fight look like a TEST of dragons lair type of game from the 80´s.

The rest is great.

If they want to change the color thing into ground spikes.... that might make it easier for vision impaired players like myself

We can't zoom out to see the entire circle while having to side-step the coils. I believe every individual would need at least two Maven runs to complete the full challenge as it would be quite impossible to not fail the memory game while side-stepping the coils. I'm also not sure if the coils are safe to ignore.
I absolutely love all the other maven crucible battles, the ones with 10 bosses, all breachlords, guardians, etc (haven't done uber/synthesis bosses yet). They're hectic and challenging in a different way, which is fun for me.

Its sad that the Maven fight is a complete 180 from that direction, instead relying on platforming to artificially boost the difficulty. So far the only thing that carries over from the other maven encounters is those degen patches she spawns during shaper/elder fights.

Can't imagine how such an inconsistency in design made into the final release of the expansion. What's next for endgame fights? Quicktime events?

And it tells alot about person who designed it.

Amazing answer.
I feel stupid for not being able to remember 5 positions.

I also feel stupid by stepping on the tiles in the middle for shortest walking distance.

I failed Maven once, then 8 successful kills. Luckily the last phase can be "shorten" by enough dmg so if you are lucky you can avoid any memory game while lasers going on.

For me, Maven is guaranteed 3 portal fight, but doing that shit deathless, no way. I haven't watched any HC people, but I assume they just log out from the 3nd memory game onward.

What I consider bigger BS is that degen debuf. It seems like total anti-RF mechanic.

Just imagine average player with lower dps - memory game starting over and over again - these player cant shorten anything, im on a build with 11 mil dps right now and i am simply not able to beat the boss because of this mechanic -
yes i might not be good at avoiding stuff but this memory thing is not avoidable at all with all this shit on the ground and the rotating laser , yes i might be lucky beating maven , but not deathless or without logging out
thats a big issue

btw all HC player log out

GGG will fix it or not - i will simply not fight her any longer

I wonder if there is somebody who is capable tanking it, or if it is "sure kill" - ie . Sirus Meteor can be tanked with proper setup :)

Don't worry. It won't get changed just like they never improved visibility in Sirus arena.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
Tbh, from my 2 tries so far I found the fight to be less rippy overall than Sirus on A8, all my deaths were from memory game and once from the brain explosion (so all the platformer stuff). Whereas I've had a LOT more practice with Sirus but still get one-shotted a lot from his attacks.

Its also a lot more expensive/grindier to access the Maven, writ currently costs 1 ex and farming the splinters takes time. I'm sure the memory game gets easier with practice but its not as easily accessible.
What is awesome on Maven access is that you can stock up on the tokesn and then just after you level up kill her multiple times as you are pretty much guaranteed to die if you don't log out.

Yes, SC scrub talking :)
