Why is pathofmatth banned?

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences people. You all need to learn this. Who gives a toss where he said it or the fact that he didn’t state anyones name specifically. It’s 100% clear who he was talking about. Doesn’t matter if it’s on twitch or wherever. He verbally abused someone in charge of this game and it doesn’t matter if the game is going against what you like. They don’t deserve to be abused in that way.
Ban is deserved. Coming as a former follower of this guy on twitch.

I get it. The point here is if he said this in forums or in game, that's fine to ban him because it's in their terms and conditions.

Know what freedom speech is? He did not say this on this forums or in game so why is he banned here? That's just abusing powers, silencing, and declining his freedom speech right.

Ahhh, another confused person. Do a little research before you start crying freedom of speech violations. It doesn't mean what you think it means.

/smh
This isn't just anyone. PoM has been featured on this site, he is a brand ambassador and the comments he made went way to far.

For you kids that are still growing up, take this as a lesson that you need to hold yourself accountable and that starts by watching what you say and how you say it.

Build relationships, don't tear them down.

I see nothing wrong with banning PoM for his ill behavior. And for those that say no name was said, that is just a stupid argument that tries to excuse his behavior.

No company should allow anyone to degrade their staff the way he did, be in game or out. I am glad they stepped in.
yea i guess ill be that guy

this ban says a lot about both path of math and ggg

On one hand absolutely
on the other hand, GGG's decisions with this game are rightfully earning them valid criticism
out of line with the remarks
out of line with the ban

Give me one good argument as to why the ban was out of line?

Ok he was out of line, Was he as out of line as the company that just hid information to not lose themselves millions of dollars in revenue?

But really, your view is that GGG has the purview and remit to police the internet and beyond? that if anyone sends them info of someone venting (which is what happens in the real world btw when companies/individuals mess up this badly) they can just arbitrarily ban you? no matter it wasn't said directly to an employee, or on the forums here or reddit, or in the game chat, anywhere on the planet ..."we don't like it, you're gone!"

The guy wasn't pleasant, but there was a demand for his views and opinions in the PoE community, he made himself popular by doing what he was doing, and there are a ton of people here who every day break the ToS, and hell I can just imagine whats been said over the last few days...why aren't they all getting perma bans then?

Eh, this sets a really bad precedence to me. Path is hated, so everyone is pretty happy it happened, and I personally cant stand the guy, either. So I'm not exactly losing sleep over it.

However, gaming companies banning people from the game because of what they say on twitch/social media sets a very bad precedent. Imagine all the people who bash Bobby Kotick, Ian, etc. What if Blizzard just started perma-banning these people from their games because they didnt like what they heard.

I feel like this would be way more warranted as a Twitch ban, since he was saying things I thought was not allowed on Twitch, moreso than banned in PoE.

Again, before I'm labeled as taking his side, I have no sympathy for this guy getting banned. He's one of the most unlikeable guys in this community. But I also dont like the idea that gaming companies can just start banning people from the game because they dont like what they have heard. You can go to just about every game channel on Twitch and find someone flaming devs/ceos/etc of whatever game they are playing.

Again, I think I would feel better about it if Twitch was banning him/them for personal attacks, than the gaming companies banning them from their games.
