Because GGG said so, like it or not but GGG can ban you right now for no reason.

But moreso, from the videos I've seen, the guy is so toxic and he was personally attacking GGG staff. After the week they've had, why wouldn't they. As had been said in another video, be grateful to the mods of the PoE reddit, otherwise it'd be full of threats and otherwise nasty stuff.

We all get passionate, but ultimate this guy went way to far, and deservedly was actioned for his comments.

Yes, PoM called Mr. Wildon horrid names, grow a thicker skin, and get over it.

Maybe he deserved the ban, but a COMPANY needs to think of the bigger picture. It needs to think about how its player base will perceive rightly or wrongly the ban.

Judging by the responses in this thread, the player base is divided. This is bad news for GGG, because at least half the players will feel this is unjust, and an overreach to silence a very vocal critic. Whether that's true or not is irrelevant, perception is everything.

What should of happened is the comment was ignored by GGG, they have bigger fish to fry right now than PoM. Banning him at best looks like a petty retaliation from GGG's CEO, at worst it will further damage GGG/PoE brand. GGG has done more damage to itself by banning him and has achieved nothing.

A COE and those others who run a company must always be mindful of the bigger picture, your brand and name are EVERYTHING, tarnish it at your own peril.

Regardless of how just the ban is, or whether or not, this was a personal retaliation is quite irrelevant now. The thing about fights when people throw $%^& around, some of it always sticks.

Regardless of the truth, justification, or anything else for that matter. There is no way this ban will not end up reflecting badly on GGG. Sometimes it's better to see the bigger picture, ignore the name calling and protect your business.

I want to know where the line is. Like for example, Alk called the league Diarrhea before he quit... Bannable?

Reading the Reddit thread and watching some of the distasteful videos - he totally deserved the ban and based on the feedback in that thread the vast, vast, vast majority agrees with GGG's actions.

If I was in charge of a company, and someone called me or any one of my employees a bald re**** they would get banned permanently for that. Because you have to look after your people, period. And GGG is the kind of stand up company that looks after their people.

Perception is everything - this I agree. Where I disagree is that the player base is divided where half feels its unjust. Going by the number of upvotes in this thread - GGG got the ban absolutely spot on. The vast majority supports this ban.

You are missing the point, I have read enough posts in this thread already to know some people think it's unjust. Whether it's right or wrong is irrelevant. Its how people perceive it and how many perceive it negatively

People spend too much time hung up on the concept of justice and right and wrong. Life is never that simple. There are still hoards of people that think that JFK was murdered by his own government. Evidence and truth are irrelevant. How you see things is. And if enough people see the same thing, its sticks.

If this ban had happened at any other time, it would not be so bad. But it happened now. it happened with PoM being a VERY vocal critic. Right or wrong, some will see this negatively and it will add fuel to a fire that is already damaging POE's brand.

Sometimes doing the right thing, doesn't actually produce the right outcome.
