What Happened with Items

It's okay GGG I still love playing Path of exile.

I think people are too hard on you, I can't even make a build myself without having to look at someone elses build.

I can't imagine how it would be like controlling all the past leagues content and loot from every single source while keep making new content that should be balanced.

Since you have communication problems internally, I will let you in on a secret the rest of us know.[Removed by Support] Alchemy and Vaal orbs, let alone chaos and up are not dropping enough to sustain mapping. If you are really looking at loot data, compare it to what people use and change the data you are collecting to reflects drops vs desired quantities. It can take a map, a scour, alch, chaos or two and a vaal orb to run a map as you well know. People are struggling to keep up with those. Raw currency is not correct. Items are even worse. Your harvest changes are not tailored to let your average player make significant upgrades and are about as random as chaos orb crafting with an exalt slam.

Game balance is not in a good place. Ground effects and auras on AN mods are over tuned. Ground effects kill my support totems (warchief and protector) in seconds reducing my dps significantly which is already going against massive elemental resistances. The aura size of many AN mods mean death from beyond my effective attack range. [Removed by Support]

Ask someone on the data team to tell you things that matter. How many chaos orbs dropped per hour on average this league against the last league. What is the average time for a white yellow and red map run. Average deaths per hour of softcore Kalandra league. Deaths in Hardcore for characters over level 50. Leading causes of deaths for characters. Some simple minded fixes.. Treat AN like exiles used to be where there is a limit per map. Add options for those who want to increase or decrease that limit. Keep the lake as it is BUT add a lake device in maps that people can use to activate their stored missions (stash remove only access preferred) that inherits the properties of the map in which the mirror was opened. Real BIG fix... ask people what they want, compare it to the vision and assume that some percentage of what all these people are asking for is worth implementing and see where you can make the compromises. It is not.

Remember, you been play testing this for weeks. So you gotten used to it. So it feels that way.

We come straight from last league, to this league, and the normal currency drops is way lower than the average of all leagues before. I'm mapping T8/9, and I can't even afford to buy basic mapping gear yet, to get me past Yellow maps. Yellow maps have always been a sort of skip through.

You mentioned Beast rares being one that was over tuned, well, you still forgot to fix it after you killed it. They don't drop anything yet, and they are still one of the toughest content in game. So according to your philosophy, they should be dropping good.

Thank you for the communication, but it does not cover all recent trouble players had to endure. A "What Happened with Standard Economy" post would have been nice. The divine/ex swap also feels like no one bothered to think of the consequences, just like you said here.

Standard players exist, and support the game too. While it is true that shrinking excessive currency is valid emergency method for fixing economy oversights, what you did was not fixing, from Standard player perspective. And leaving time window for farming thousands of divines via above-mentioned "beyond broken beyond" and other juice added insult to injury. Not all players were equipped for that kind of crazy farming to compensate their losses, so economical disparity only increased by the time of 3.19 release, amount of people who had 75+% of their playtime thrown out of the window without any communication, exceeds those who managed to gain from this change.

Would be interesting to hear, what place Standard players occupy in your game direction, if they have such place at all.

This doesn't work anymore. I have arrived at mapping, and it's completely sad. I still run level 20 rings and a four link chest since nothing useful drops. And you cannot alch useful items neither since there are not enough alchs. Divine orbs is something that i will see once in a decade now, and so on.

What is left is to simply buy the needed items. And since there are not enough currency drops left the only way to buy these items is to buy currencies by real money. But then i don't need to play the game anymore. You are ruining your own business at the moment.

It doesn't matter if i am one shotted by a mob of rares or a single rare. The chance to get one shotted by a very strong single opponent is much bigger though.

You removed the loot in a looting game. THIS went wrong. Is it really this hard to understand?

3.18 was not perfect neither, but it had a balance in loot and difficulty that allowed you to go up to endgame content. This balance is completely gone. You messed up the game to nearly unplayable.

The only way this gets fixed is if you revert to pre-archnemesis, leave the positive changes like the atlas and its passives, leave the harvest currency without deleting any of the crafts, and relaunch the league over again with proper rewards. Maybe bring the recombinators back and make the league reworks legitimate and take things like the tainted currency and revert it back to its original values.

That's it.

That's all that will be accepted by a vast majority of people at this point.

If you don't, Diablo 4 or Last Epoch will bury this game in it's current state, it's that simple and it's sad.

Like sentinel + overcharged that dropped solely magic items for me. At least tweak it so a 2 AN mod rare drops rares or maybe 1 alch? Absolute joke. After all the patchs you stil can't sustain the currency used for chisel alc 1 or 2 scours if bad mods , vaal orb in order to complete a red map objective.
Just wondering, is this an out of season April Fools joke?
