POE 2 speed slowed down. Yay or Nay ?

100% agree with the OP.

Slow the game down! I haven't played in a very long time because I am bored with one click tactics and not even seeing the enemies I am killing.

The game is designed by GGG to challenge uber fast characters and even super tanky builds with huge DPS and/or instant health regeneration.

The only way to challenge those builds is on death effects and damage that can one shot those characters. This makes playing slowly impractical if you want to progress at all. Therefore if you want to do all content you simply are forced to zoom.

So what is the solution? Lower damage output by players and monsters. Slow down health regeneration so the lower damage monsters are still a threat.

Specifically, scale down player damage significantly for single skills but make combinations of skills more effective. In this way battles will be more tactical and you might even get to enjoy the graphics.

People will get used to the new speed and maybe they will even get to see the content. Right now mid to late game looks like a seizure inducing fireworks show. It is boring...

Huge NO for me. I can agree with 1 button mechanics, but the main reason I'm playing POE is speed. After spending years in D3 POE was savior for me. Ofc i will try new game but if it will be like D4 im out. Literally falling asleep when playing D4.

There is D4 for those who wants a slow game. Good graphics, slow, noob friendly etc...

As long as I'm able to play my CWDT spamming builds and Dancing Dervish and the like, then I won't care if the speed is toned down.

As long as they keep updating PoE 1 with meaningful updates when it comes to graphics, performance and animations, PoE 2 can be as slow as they like, hell, give it a slow-motion effect for all I care. If PoE 1 is going to be set on "maintenence mode" and only recieve quantity and no updates towards modernization, I want PoE 2 to be almost as fast as PoE 1.

I think the speed of PoE 1 is one of the key factors that sparates the game from other ARPGs. We have TONS of slow ARPGs on the market. PoE 1 offers something different and I like it. And I say that even if I personally never go for the "fastest builds". I just like the idea of the sky being the limit in games like these.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
It has to slow down.
Otherwise it would be impossible to play melee whith the activation combos and rolling.

I really, honestly think the Fast vs. Slow concerns are probably less founded than people have been harping on for the past several years. Have been considering it a good deal lately, especially in the context of so many people pushing the Dark Souls/Elden Ring comparisons again.

I've got over a thousand hours in Elden Ring, and for the most part the game doesn't feel slow at all. Admittedly, I avoid the big thunder chungus outsized 'Colossal' weapons like plague, but for the most part the game feels fine while playing it because it's not concerned with frantic haste but rather with smooth play.

Another example that watching PoE2 and the arguments surrounding its speed of play reminds me of is Dead Cells, actually. Anyone who's played that game can attest that it does not feel 'slow' at all when the fecal matter impacts the rotary air impeller, but lots of folks say it looks slow and clunky when they watch it. Watching Dead Cells secondhand gives a poor idea of the pacing, weight, and feel of combat - stuff you only really get when the controller's in your hands and you're the one madly juking zombies.

People say PoE2 seems unbearably slow because they're watching footage of early campaign play and because they're not playing the game themselves. The developers have put a tremendous focus on endless iteration so they can nail the feel of combat and ensure that when you're at the helm, the game is smooth and responsive. The best action games out there are the ones that do the same thing, and none of them feel slow when you're playing them. I can't imagine PoE2 will be any different.
The game can be slow and still be fun, I am not too concerned with the speed of the game tbh. My concerns with the game are still more about the want and need to replay the game over and over again. POE1 does this exceptionaly well, I want to play again to do things different and improve and failure only sparks new ideas for triumph.
