Is it really a "meta shake-up"?
They have 100 chances with transfigured gems to make shake the meta.
In a vacuum the meta is going to stay the same early league. Too big of brain required to make life stacker or the new spectre minions work at league start. Poison tincture LA/Artillery Ballista Pathfinder seems like what I want to do. |

" If the people of this community were creative or capable of making builds by themselves then POE ninja wouldn't look the way it does every league since the dawn of time. But nice try. |

im not using kaoms anymore so i guess its some sort of meta change.
id rather prefer to have 2-3 more gloves with similar dps incr to kaoms than killing the item tho. guess you can still use it on some 300-400k armor stack, but yeah... |

While I believe the amount of builds available to play has never been higher, the fact that Deadeye/Pathfinder/TS/LA have not been touched (heck maybe even buffed); means that 40% of the player base will be playing these, as it is the case every single league.
So yes in theory it's a meta shake-up, but in practice it won't be. Players will always gravitate towards the most efficient and broken mechanics if given the chance, it's game design 101. It's the game developers' job to regulate (nerf) said mechanics. If not, they are failing at their role, plain and simple. And when these few previously stated archetypes/skills have been dominating the meta for way too long with a 40% combined representation, you can expect the exact same or worse this time around. Fun, isn't it... Sigh So blame the developers for refusing to nerf the bow archetype, Deadeye, Pathfinder, TS, LA. Remember when the Assassin got completely guttered hey, but now you won't do the same for other ascendancies that are even more dominant. It might be far-fetched but it makes you wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that some GGG devs play aurabots (meaning they play support for bow builds). Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks simply isn't fun. Rework stacked decks needed. Last edited by Senju_Hyoketsu on Dec 4, 2023, 11:35:34 AM

" And who do you think made build you play? Santa Claus? It was made by "PoE community" for people like you who cant make one themselves so they copy build from internet. Last edited by Aynix on Dec 4, 2023, 11:38:17 AM

If your objectives are to make as many div/hr as possible, get a rapid mageblood then blast maximum screen % per click then no the meta won't be shaken up you'll still be playing TS Deadeye etc same as prior.
For everyone with tamer goals I think it will be pretty substantial. I tend to play overperformers that are relatively cheap and cheerful or are just fun to gear for and I can already see a substantial number of those. The RF change will shake a few people out as well plus I'm expecting a few OP but low effort builds like poison SRS, explodo totems etc to make an appearance. But again if your goals are MB and Div/hr the only thing that would shake up the meta is removing MB or making all the S-tier farming skills garbage. |

I doubt it. I'm sure we'll see far too many Deadeyes and Pathfinders still. I remember when I saw "wow, people like Inquisitors now?" only to realize they don't actually use Instruments of Virtue, no, it's just another milquetoast caster.
If only they would buff all the bad skill gems... now we get different versions of said bad skill gems? Sorry, sorry. I'm being too negative. The new transfigured gems may end up being very cool, I really believe so too. | |
The way to achieve proper game design while maintaining the challenge offered by a game is not to buff all the bad skills, that trivializes the game because the power creep then becomes too high.
You'd then be forced to buff monsters and game mechanics which would result in the same state you had in the first place, minus skills being more or less equal. The correct way is to nerf the overperformers, plain and simple. Well, a constant combination of both. Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks simply isn't fun. Rework stacked decks needed.

" You need to address why are those skills overperfoming in the first place, otherwise you'll end up in a neverending cycle of nerfing and buffing the same thing. See my suggestion for addressing TS and LA: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3452068 |

The league start will follow the known meta, right after that there will be great divergence.
Did you try turning it off and on again?
