Extremely disapointing melee offerings.... as is tradition

I'm league starting melee and will play melee.
Point is that compared to everything else melee got so little effort and attention in this historic meta change. It's not even funny how neglected it is at this point.


Thats such a wrong take i cant even. Most skills just got their jewels rolled in as alternate version, some skills got split to be more focused on usage like crackling lance (you got clear and single target version). It is not "ground breaking" for any skill. I dont know what you all expected but they clearly said its replacemnt for alt quality, jewels and enchants and thats what those trasfigured versions are. They are the same skills with different flavours, thats it. Most new spells are even weaker than the old versions. They are more focused on hit, GGG made concious effort to not include "and aliaments" in the buffs.

Id be suprised at this point when GGG releases one good melee gem "reworked" after i have seen the so far released transfigured gems.

Maybe. But MS is still melee. Moreover it's not just AoE melee it's Strike skill - in order to generate the ballz you have to hit the target. :)

Most of the guys here seriously think Boneshatter is the best melee skill while the real experts think it's the only melee skill that "works". Your heresy shall not go unpunished!

"Best" is defined differently, though. On a normie budget, for a casual player, Boneshatter is absolutely the best melee skill when it comes to the ease of progression and gear independency. Does it have the best scaling capabilities? No. And the "experts" play HC, where it probably IS the best skill.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I agree with both sides that we should give them time to release more and that GGG punishes melee. One user told me that its because we spend less money than the casters and bow users, I hope he is wrong by a mile . Its a joke really for all these years melee doesnt get what it needs, and who is behind it?

So Boneshatter is best at level of people who dont even consider whats best and not, they just want to play 4fun. Because tahts what most "normies" do. Should we even consider skill good if its best only at the level at which we, those who wonder what is best, dont play?
I just play Melee or Melee adjacent(Shockwave attacks, melee or not someone else debate it) because well, I find it far more fun than killing things from halfway across the map. Feels more interactive than getting spells or minions to do it for me.

Could it be better? Sure but outside of just raw damage buff, what would people want by "Better"?
