" Of course, video games are luxury goods. As the OED defines, a luxury is "a thing desirable but not necessary." It doesn’t matter whether it's caviar, a private jet, or a $450 digital video game—the definition holds. Regional pricing might be a valid business model, just like keeping prices the same for everyone. That doesn’t mean I have to agree with it or support it. " No, the reason for regional pricing isn’t charity—it’s profit maximization. Companies like GGG or Tencent aren’t philanthropists. They implement regional pricing when it makes more financial sense than direct currency conversion. If maintaining uniform pricing earns them more, they’ll go with that. This isn’t about helping players; it’s about what’s more profitable. And for the record, I’m still not a fan of regional pricing. " Yes, that must be it—I can’t possibly afford $30, despite having numerous badges and spending nearly $2,000 on this game already. Thanks for the concern, but I’m well-paid, even though there are plenty of people in poorer countries who could probably do my job just as well. :D. My critique of regional pricing is based on principle, not personal circumstances. The aim of regional pricing might be to balance costs against living standards, but let’s not pretend it’s some noble endeavor—it’s a business strategy that prioritizes profit, plain and simple. Everybody should pay the same for the same product... Last edited by tyreen#6725 on Nov 24, 2024, 7:31:26 PM

Weird how GGG already supports Regional Pricing by changing your region here on the website. Brazil, Russia, and Thailand, for example, have localized prices for the Supporter Packs here on the website. So why not have localized prices for all countries on Steam?
Hopefully, they will address this soon, as it seems Support is avoiding this topic as well. |

Im pretty sure VPN and some abuse stuff didn't work on steam nowadays, since Steam keeping massive update on their security.
This case is absolutly on different matter. Because some regions has increased (up to 101%) and some is decreased (-20%). like it's not fair actually. Hope GGG and steam can solve this issue, and bring back the original region price. ![]() |

" So your anti-regional pricing stance is purely an ideological one, since you yourself admit that it's good business strategy. Can I ask why you think it's a good stance? What benefit does it bring, since the developer makes less money and potential customers in third world nations are priced out of a piece of art? |

" I don't like being charged more than others for the same product, especially since video games are not a necessity. It devalue those packs and promotes grey market issues. Regional pricing isn't guaranteed to bring in more money either, as we've seen that they reverted some of their regional pricing changes on steam. Yes they have some on their website too, but I doubt it has more impact than the steam sales. In my opinion, a single, global price seems better. |

perhaps the initial price was half what it was supposed to. You can always google the exchange rates for your country something like USD to xy currency.
