Long Time supporters and "heavy spenders" should be getting more than one key.
" I'm sorry....which streamers are already playing the Early Access? It doesn't exist yet so my guess would be zero? How many of them will have to pay, just like everyone else? My guess: 100%. "this game didn't get at the top of arpgs": its not at the top of arpgs. It has a dedicated core playerbase and fanbase, but it is nowhere near as big as probably a good 20+ "top" arpgs. If PoE put as much money behind advertising as some of the other giant arpg companies....the game would be WAY more popular. They just didn't choose to go that route, and frankly suffered because of it. Why shouldn't there be an entry fee? The alpha was invite-only, the beta/ea is a fee, the FULL release is free. Please don't forget that early access is NOT the release of the game....it is a special "privilege" being offered to test the game prior to its free release. And privilege deserves an entrance fee. " I meant the game itself being streamed. Not specifically early access. Early access is not a real development cycle. It's a PR gimmick. I used to get paid to Beta test games for Tiberon Entertainment. Yea crazy right? They used to pay people to test games. My point is you don't charge people for open beta testing (which is what this is) because it's already a win for their side. They are double dipping and it's kinda cringe. From all games I have played this is the only company that I know that ever considered doing such a thing - which is already incredibly generous of them. In fact, I would encourage you to try other early access games for yourself to see what early access on average gives you.

" This doesn't exactly translate well because PoE2 is a F2P game. I'm well aware on shady use of "Early Access" but I personally also know it's just a PR word for beta access. For instance when I bought Early Access on BG3. I bought the game to start playing in it's beta development state. They even rewarded EA players by giving them extra stuff. The extra stuff wasn't part of the deal at all. Larian just decided to thank players for all their feedback and bug reports. GGG is asking for money to beta an otherwise free game. It's not a coincidence higher packs come with an extra key. I don't mind supporting GGG but generous is not a word I'd use for this situation. It's quite smart really. It looks like they're giving the previous spenders something. Relying on previous spenders to invite another player and also relying on new players wanting to invite their friends. Highest sales core packs ever. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

i dont care about poe 2 so you can has my key.

"Baldurs Gate EA was 60$ and the game is not free to play. It never will be free to play. Path of Exile is free to play, so is Path of Exile 2 when it fully releases. Except that Path of Exile 2 will not generate income from selling the game when it comes out. EA is optional, not the full game, and a nice income stream for GGG while they're still working on the game. What exactly is the problem here? Oh also, I haven't spent a single cent on PoE 2 yet and will still get a key for my past support. GGG just decided to thank players like me for their past support with that gesture. |

" This. Exactly this. I have no problem with it. I have a problem with players saying it's generous. Others over here like "Why shouldn't there be an entry fee?" or "No there shouldn't be keys at all" or "I was prepared to buy access like everyone else". It's a sales pitch. Nothing more. They don't get the financial game plan at work. That's what bugs me. "I'm thankful to pay money to play the beta version of this free game." - Sound a bit silly? " Oh it absolutely is a gimmick.......but hey, this is a f2p game. How could it be free to play and NOT have weird gimmicks that try to get you to spend money when you probably shouldn't be lol It's become pretty standard fare for even the big game titles to sell you "half" of a game...and then develop it later. That crap was unheard of a decade or two ago. Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Nov 26, 2024, 4:38:34 PM

" Yea, that's why GGG gets my money and others don't. Hell, I've had EA blacklisted since 2001 when they canceled a finished product called BattleTech 3025. Arenanet, Trion and now sadly Blizzard. Doesn't matter what they make. I won't buy it. I wish the 'typical gamer' had a bit more discipline. These companies wouldn't be getting away with what they pull. as a long time supporter that spent more than i want to admit, i m happy that we get a free key to begin with (still waiting for mine)
sure one can argue that we dont "deserve" more than one key, we're not entitled to it, and free extra keys can be resold RMT. but the way i see it, if ggg decides to give us free keys then i can get more of my friends to come on board. in short, not necessary but would be appreciated if we got more keys.
