Can't wait to see full build. After deleting Cast on Freeze my Bloodmage is unplayable and I can't see any point of playing it further. This looks pretty sick and maybe I'll come back!

[/So i never grabbed sanguinmancy. Im still rocking a single node in ascendancy until i figure out how to live with the life cost. If you're running that node I would remove it and try again. I completed second ascendancy and am in Act 6. Been playing it slow since im juggling another game.]

Yeah, I just started a new toon(made it to end of Act 3) for the other ascendency and now im running a sorc in prep for this build.
Some takeaways from Blood Mage DoT/Hexblast testing:

1) Event Horizon: 2000% not worth it right now. You really feel the sting of 3% life lost on casting a chaos skill combined with Sanguimancy. It's worse on Bossing because of them being hp sponges. I dropped this node and made managing my hp much less stressful.

2) Spaghettification: Same as above. -13% chaos res is huge and not worth the negatives.

3) Dark Entries is fantastic. The +1 all chaos kills almost completely offset losing 53% chaos damage from #1. This is a no-brainer. Buffs all your chaos skills. While over here you could also dive into the poison nodes.

4) Whispers of Doom: I really only tested this using enfeeble and despair as aura's to see if Hexblast would pop both at the same time. Didn't seem to and Hexblast is WAI with only popping a single curse. Unless Hexblast is adjusted to pop all curses on target I'd skip this one.

5) Life regen: These nodes are sparse. With how many nodes are available for mana regen MoM seems the logical choice here along with ES stacking.

6) Cast on Minion Death: I've tinkered around with this using temp minions from Unearth (lvl 12 gem currently). The power gain seems to be way too low after the nerf.

7) Hexblast: This skill is fantastic. Currently testing envenom and bursting plague on this. -TBD

Ok but no idea how to do this though xD

EDIT : NVM here's a "guide" just for you XD https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/1c8fa132-1ea3-4e7a-8645-41fcd411044a/builds/3dcb4596-759e-43d9-bcd1-b2bf438818ef

Plz note that its not complete : i miss many sockets and points. For items i go shield/chaos wand and ES/armour on everything else. Planning to swap to ES amrour when i get the 3rd ascendancy even though IDK if we can it in pre-release.

Single target dps comes from totem (don't forget to use profane ritual on corpses for 1 more debuff if needed/possible)/chaos wand attacks and ofc ED/contagion. I swap with chaotic freeze on contagion and drain ailments on ED for bosses too.

Just tried out time of need, what does persistance do? Duration between blessings goes up from 11 to 16s

Regarding Event Horizon. i got items with hp regen and picked few nodes for hp regen and now i dont feel any downsides

i tried to create build for hexblast but right now damage is issue, because it's hard to scale. currently i'm in t6 maps and i dont have enough damage(my gear is not optimal but still)

Here is a build I planned on. The side with the +1 to chaos skill will be last priority. I think building towards MoM and around that side as you fit while going ham with the biggest damage skills with chaos might be the play. I don't have the items or currency to build towards this but its my take on how to build the tree as a bloodmage chaos witch.

Anyone thats good at build planning mind taking a look? the idea is for this to work in HC as well and have enough damage from items to scale you properly.

EDIT: so im only lvl 59 and i tested this with MoM. As of now with only 710 mana and 29.1 mana regen I couldnt sustain the mana cost but I was definitely tanky. I removed MoM and I still remained tanky and was able to cast better. I think MoM will be more lategame when I find more regen and mana in gear and get more passives. I have grasping wounds as my 4th ascendancy point

Has anyone considered Event Horizon being used with a full armor build?

If you don’t have an energy shield, you cut out half of the damage you take and only have to worry about health. I’m thinking a build that stacks life per second without high life, but with plenty of armor and resistance, would offset the damage.

I really like the node and am planning a build around it, though I won’t be taking it early and instead plan to save it for later, but my build is revolving around the idea of using it because I love the concept of it.

I’m using armor and energy shield gear and I intend to keep my life and energy shield maximum relatively low while maximizing the regen for both. My level 28, while low, has 660 hp and 17 life per second, which is just under 3% p/sec. Ideally I’d like around 4-5% p/sec of life regen.

I also think Event Horizon encourages slower casting with a focus on damage. Things like chain, pierce, unleash, increased skill duration, and other things that allow you to get your damage out with minimal spell casts is the way.

I definitely have little experience making builds in PoE and I haven’t made it to endgame so I’m not sure how it will play out in the end.

Does life recoup work with event horizon? I’m guessing no, because it doesn’t say you take 3% life as damage, it just says you lose it.

I'm rolling full armor build (you can see link to my build on mobalytics earlier in this point).

My take is: Event Horizon is usable, but not super-awsome. With good gear it is on par with other chaos nodes (most of them are either multiplicative or have additional benefits), maybe a tiny bit better.

The damage is not recoupable.

I would not prioritize it, but I see nothing wrong in using it, once your gear allows you.

Please let us worship the chaos queeennn!
its sort of laughable that were 16 pages in and OP still hasn't managed to provide even the most basic of input. Clearly lots of people who are interested in and are trying ED/Cont and OP has only managed a couple of carefully selected YT shorts. Honestly feels like bait and i don't expect OP to have solved any of the issues already being discussed.

For what my penny thoughts are worth, starting this build is miserable. I've only gotten to A3 (and managed to brick during a respec) and found much of the gameplay to that point was slower than other class/builds and bosses were absolutely the most painful experience i've had in awhile. It seemed like there was much more access to +elemental skills and damage early and that may provide an easier path through the early game. I'd be curious to know y'alls thoughts on leveling as ED vs leveling as something like a fire sorc and then cutting over at some point- what skills do you think we should lean on for the best leveling experience, and when do you think the sweet spot might be to cut over?
