POE 2 ✧ Lahkesis Queen of Chaos ✧ "Essence Drain " Guide releas (Showcase video include)

Playing on SSF and I found ED/contagion allright (not great, but not bad also), but it starts really slow.

My start was pretty frustraiting, but mostly due my poor understanding of POE2 mechanics and it differences from POE1

Before dark effigy boss damage is miserable, so some other skill is needed.
After dark effigy, damage is ok, but rotation is a bit complex. Before you can afford at least 4 support gems there will be some dance with gem swapping for boss/clear.

I've built for survivability and I am pretty happy about the build. The first ten map tiers were extremely safe even with trash gear.

This is how I built it https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/d20c7f59-361d-4242-b860-f972145bad2f/builds/6298d281-4417-422f-b0bd-9782e7eba4b1 (currently playing a little bit differently, trying to bump slow efficiency to max just to see how it feels, but I like previous build better).

Now I'm optimizing the gear to push for the endgame (I didn't have a lot of time to play during the week), will update how I feel about the build later.

you're 100% right. it doesnt seem like theres gonna be much interactions that are viable short of a high investment. ive worked through the campaign with a half ED/Con build but only because ive been using SRS/Arsonists with many chaos nodes and the unique that converts ignite damage to chaos. maybe something to work with further there but this ed explosion stuff from the shorts seems to be from like act 5 and probably not working super well on maps.

its sort of laughable that were 16 pages in and OP still hasn't managed to provide even the most basic of input. Clearly lots of people who are interested in and are trying ED/Cont and OP has only managed a couple of carefully selected YT shorts. Honestly feels like bait and i don't expect OP to have solved any of the issues already being discussed.

For what my penny thoughts are worth, starting this build is miserable. I've only gotten to A3 (and managed to brick during a respec) and found much of the gameplay to that point was slower than other class/builds and bosses were absolutely the most painful experience i've had in awhile. It seemed like there was much more access to +elemental skills and damage early and that may provide an easier path through the early game. I'd be curious to know y'alls thoughts on leveling as ED vs leveling as something like a fire sorc and then cutting over at some point- what skills do you think we should lean on for the best leveling experience, and when do you think the sweet spot might be to cut over?

Levelling as ED is not bad at all, I enjoyed it and made it to endgame in 20 hours with 20 deaths (unnecessary deaths btw)

But I paid for 1 decent wand 2 ex for smooth levelling.

You don't need to tell people you're SSF. You just need to say you're playing.

I get it was just a joke about dead trade-), no offense.

If it was, I strongly disagree that trade does not change anything. While I didn't have trade experience in POE2 yet, I can see that I already have infinite ammount of lvl16 gems, I bet more active players are already stocked on 17 and 18. Just getting lvl16 in white maps from smb would immediately boost you above the curve.
It's very different from POE1 where you had to level gem for sale and it was a specific skill. I imagine they are pretty cheap.

Same with "I just bought a descent wand". With loot scarcity during the acts it can be smth like 50% dps difference, which will change perception of the difficulty greatly.

Due to this, leveling experience in trade (unless it's literally a league start, and you are one of the top players) and SSF are vastly different.

Corspewade is fireeeeeeeeeeee!
I play Chaos Chrono Sorceress currently at level 68 and leveled all the way from level 10 with it. I feel like my damage is really good but i lack overall survival. Guess the key is to shift and temporal rift all the time to get out of situations.
Here is my skill tree for anyone interested. Im also wondering why nobody picks Event Horizon. It is only annoying for Energy Shield buildup but other than that im fine with it. Suggestions are welcome :)

You don't need to tell people you're SSF. You just need to say you're playing.

It's actually useful information though?

With how people have found this build (across multiple ascendancies) it's important to know if they're SSF or not, as access to being able to buy items to fix holes in the build is pretty huge; With +1 skills being as impactful as it is for example.

I'm trying to SSF, was smooth (albeit slow at times) until towards the end of A3 and most of A4, really became a slog of almost dying to each pack. Managed to craft a +3 wand with 40% chaos dam and get a +2 amulet, now I'm turbo auto pilot through packs and bosses.

Had I been able to just buy that earlier then we'd be having a very different conversation, this is also just talking about %dam and +1 in isolation - resses and life/ES would also change the tankiness and feel of it too
