Cold Chronomancer Megathread. All content cleared. Leveling guide added. Low-budget build added.

Thanks Monik. Yes, maxroll was bugged so I couldn't see the 10% resistance stuff.
I really would like a regalia and I have been looking at them but the cheapest is 12 Div.
Maybe I can save that but that would be all my money. Great armor.

If the season last 1 year, I would be OK to invest but I have no idea how long it is gonna be

Dev's stated in the last big update message that an economy reset will be coming. This means you shouldn't hold on to your money and throw it around since it will be lost anyways. Unless they make a another realm(which they might do) where you can continue to play with that character and bank outside of the update but they haven't said they were going to do that.

Right now, I am struggling so much in breach that I get 1 or 2 breach fragment per breach at best.
I want to farm them to get a breach stone.
Would you suggest to run wall + frostbolt until I get the atlas running and shift after to wall + spark. Getting 40k DPS with Spark will not be easy

Breach doesn't offer much until you start getting points into the atlas tree. Xesht has very low HP on the first difficulty, you should have no problems killing him. Or if you want you can message me in game and ill run you through it. Most of the breach splinters that I get come from clasped hands. So the Grasping Hands passive will dramatically change how many splinters you are getting since it adds 50% MORE clasped hands into your breaches. This is a must if you want to farm breach splinters.
Did someone test Choir of the storm amulet? At least for clearing. It looks like Now And Again also works with it, causing almost double casts sometimes, so in long-term this greater lightning bolt will do 33% more DPS than not chrono ascendance.
Why? Because... well, without cast on crit and some good 60 spirit armour, if I will be able to get somewhere extra 10 spirit, blink will fit in active weapon swap.

So you recommend to go to the boss with Breach stone asap? I am not sure where to find it

So basically i'm losing everything for 150 more mana and can't be frozen, sound like this ring is so bad, am i wrong?

I want to put this all into perspective.
I’m making some assumptions, so please forgive me if I’m wrong. (Already sold Dream Fragments.)

I want to compare DF + Breach vs. Breach + Breach.

Cast Speed:
With 37% cast speed (with Ingenuity) on one ring, you don’t need any cast speed on the wand or in the skill tree (at least for me with Ice Nova).

If we have cast speed on one ring, the other can focus on rarity or additional resistances.

Resistances (with Ingenuity):
28.8% to all elemental resistances allows you to drop a lot of resistances on other gear. For example, I’ve been looking for a good helmet lately (with at least 150 mana), and it’s a trade-off—you either get a 400 ES helmet or a 300 ES one with significantly more resistances.

I don’t know exactly how much 100 ES is worth, but I’d assume it’s around 100 mana.

Mana:
As far as I know, there is no flat mana in the passive tree, meaning all the mana we get is percentage-based. So, I’d assume that a 280 mana ring (500 with Ingenuity) provides similar mana compared to 43% max mana from Dream Fragments (with Ingenuity).

Please let me know if my assumptions are wrong. Even if Dream Fragments gives around 200 more mana, I don’t think it’s worth it, considering how much you lose on other gear while trying to meet the resistance cap, increase rarity, or maintain cast speed.

Some Info:
A 279 mana breach ring with 13 Intelligence gives me around 850 mana compared to no ring.
A 255 mana breach ring gives around 700 mana.

Hey, i'm playing Ice Nova too !
I appreciate you sharing this because I was also speculating about this ring !

+280 mana / +24% cast speed / +30% cold damage on breach ring
+250 mana + X rarity / +30% cold damage and some res on the other one
feel rly good with 80% ingenuity !

By the way, I've found that "mental toughness" actually improves quality of life more than "dynamism". Your mana move less, doing less (but already enough) Comet damage but can cast ~3 Comet more on boss @4.6k mana.

How did you do this part? I can't see any gems in the oval and your gem list and the passive tree are not the same.

Meanwhile, my last build update here. This time it's fr, because I've got all of the chase uniques I wanted. There is still room for improvement, but I've played enough.

Build updated: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/6x7q0cm3

Full Simulacrum lvl82 run: https://youtu.be/tSdhmAZLXzg

One Button (EoW) Xesht lvl82 (CoC-Comet w/Impetus-Energy Retention):

So many Comets....

~~~~~~~
- Moved to no-ES glass-cannon build with 6.1k mana. Just in case, 200 ES/150 mana gloves instead of Maligaro would raise it to 6.7k mana. Decent ES-mana Focus would lift it up to 7.4-7.5k mana.
So, I removed Grim Feast and those 3 ES passives I had.
- My glass-cannon approach is very dangerous in Simulacrum (the mana pool is gone when bosses emerge), but it offers ~50% more damage with +3 amulet in comparison to Everlasting Gaze. The reason is simple - hitting lvl 31 Comet is big af. The difference between lvl 30 and 31 comets is more than 15% alone.
- All other content is trivialized.
- I've added Cast on Shock for extra punch, which is unnecessary (can fit Blink or whatever here), but I put all of the damage supports on swap here (Concentrated Effect/Elemental Focus). So I don't need to waste my time on it. CoC with impetus/Energy Retention is still great for clearing and can kill bosses in 1 EoW.
- Comet in Cast on Shock is stronger than Lightning Conduit:
Spoiler
This is CoS only, no CoC here.
Lightning Conduit:
Comet:
- Overall damage output is kinda disgusting. Well, as expected for a big budget tho:
Spoiler
Spark (124k):
~~~~~~~

CoS-Comet (1.8kk):

~~~~~~~
CoC-Comet (760k):
~~~~~~~

I didn't record, but CoC-Comet with Conc/Ele Focus instead of Impetus-Energy Retention is about 1.2-1.3kk.

- Once again, CoS is very questionable here, and definitely can play w/o it. Need to swap gems in CoC on bosses. I just wanna be a bit lazy here.

- I see no reason to keep Everlasting Gaze anymore on this setup. Although 6k mana is worse than 1.5k ES and 4k mana, the damage is worth it.

- A lot of variations are possible. Better balance between damage/survivability, whatever.

~~~~~~~
Just a small reminder, this thing above is expensive. Just a small demo of the next possible steps after you finish your medium-budget build (50-70d).
I put all the things in Notes on maxroll.
~~~~~~~

That's it. Although I'm not happy with my current wand, enough is enough.

Cya all next patch.

Btw, about the next content release or economy restart. If GGG releases the Templar, esp Hierophant - I will play one there. If not - I'll stick to this build again.

~~~~~~~
DomumOni#7042, please check the Notes on Maxroll build page. There are plenty of things to get.
~~~~

okinkurt#3952, I can't see the image, put in on imbgg/imgur. There are several passive trees there, maxroll chooses jewels depending on the passive tree. OP has the guide to maxroll too.

~~~~
Sairef#3190, I've tried Choir this week, quite good. But I decided to stick with +3 amu.
~~~~

DeathMaillet#9146 gz =) Unfortunately, Spark is too hard to ignore later, but it's just later.
At early/midgame I still would stick to Frostbolt anyway.

I finally beat my first simulacrum !!!

And ... I got the unique mana flask !!

My gosh that flask is something else xD Instant mana fill that is just plain crazy xD

I'm too afraid to try the no ES variation and I don"t have the budget for it anyway ^^

Thanks for all the tips and tricks though.

Happy to know we can have spark in this setup but it feels no more cold chronomancer to me ^^"
Hey all,

Wanted to share my version of the Cold Chronomancer:

https://youtu.be/jPKSAmiJuu4

Breach starts at 1:10

POB --> https://maxroll.gg/poe2/pob/wu8101on

I do have chase uniques (Temporalis and Dream Fragments) in this build. But I've played the build without them and it still works. In fact, it might have a higher DPS without them. There are some drawbacks in using them. For Temporalis, you sacrifice Spirit, some resistances, ES. For Dream Fragments, you sac Cast Speed (which is super important). With a Breach ring, my Comet cast speed is 1.3s. With the Dream Fragment, it's 1.45s. Its a toss between Dream Fragments and a Breach ring, but I like that I can annoint a different notable on my amulet (not Icebreaker anymore). For the Temporalis, unlimited Blink (and Temporal Rift) is just perfect for my playstyle. I like to press buttons lmao.

This build also clears Simulacrum +4. There will be times that you get in a pinch, as can be seen in the Breach section. Comet gets cancelled a lot. You have to reposition. For even more damage, I replace Magnified and Spell Cascade with Concentrated Effect and Elemental Focus. But tbh you don't have to.
@Monik,

Amazing build. This From nothing diamong is 34 divines. That is a lot
