Any idea if damage taken recouped as mana works with energy shield?

I've bought a dream fragments and i don't know if i'm stupid or something but it's almost like trast ring??

My stats with a breach ring (mana, res, cast speed and rarity)



4100 mana, 3500 es, 28% all elem res (80% ingenuity), 37% cast speed (80% ingenuity) and a little rarity.



My stats with dream fragments: +150 more mana, -500 energy shield, -28% fire and lightning res, +16% cold res, -37% cast speed, +100 mana regen and i can't be chilled or frozen.

So basically i'm losing everything for 150 more mana and can't be frozen, sound like this ring is so bad, am i wrong?

Was 250 mana difference for me (w/ 5*2% soul cores) w/o Ingenuity (almost 4.8k pool DF vs ~4.55k breach ring).

% increased maximum mana scales better with more raw ES/mana from the gear than another source of % maximum mana. Means, you'd better to run breach ring instead of Ventor's Gamble =)

Anyway, I moved from morior to 1k ES chest bc it adds ~300-350 more mana with fragments.

How do you farm Sapphire? In 150 hours of play, I got only 4.

Ring or jewels?

if trade.. just by them. haha.
if ssf, the best place to farm Jewels is Sakema trials.

Royal chests drop jewels.
Time lost chests drop time lost jewels.

jewels do not have ilevel requirements. so ANY trial can be farmed for any jewel. that said, more floors=more chests.
and timelost chests only appear in 3 and 4 floor trials.

Sapphire rings drop at level 12. so, probably not worth farming new characters and checking vendor, like it is for azure amulets to chance...
just get a loot filter and keep your eyes open. check vendors too.

I want to put this all into perspective.
I’m making some assumptions, so please forgive me if I’m wrong. (Already sold Dream Fragments.)

I want to compare DF + Breach vs. Breach + Breach.

Cast Speed:
With 37% cast speed (with Ingenuity) on one ring, you don’t need any cast speed on the wand or in the skill tree (at least for me with Ice Nova).

If we have cast speed on one ring, the other can focus on rarity or additional resistances.

Resistances (with Ingenuity):
28.8% to all elemental resistances allows you to drop a lot of resistances on other gear. For example, I’ve been looking for a good helmet lately (with at least 150 mana), and it’s a trade-off—you either get a 400 ES helmet or a 300 ES one with significantly more resistances.

I don’t know exactly how much 100 ES is worth, but I’d assume it’s around 100 mana.

Mana:
As far as I know, there is no flat mana in the passive tree, meaning all the mana we get is percentage-based. So, I’d assume that a 280 mana ring (500 with Ingenuity) provides similar mana compared to 43% max mana from Dream Fragments (with Ingenuity).

Please let me know if my assumptions are wrong. Even if Dream Fragments gives around 200 more mana, I don’t think it’s worth it, considering how much you lose on other gear while trying to meet the resistance cap, increase rarity, or maintain cast speed.

Some Info:
A 279 mana breach ring with 13 Intelligence gives me around 850 mana compared to no ring.
A 255 mana breach ring gives around 700 mana.

Bluntly. For your current setup there is no need in Dream Fragments.

For my setup, on the other hand, Dream Fragments offer 1600 mana. A 276 mana breach ring instead of DF offers ~600 mana. Considering the fact that I'm running no ES build now, it's a drastic difference.

I thought procs from Cast On metas can't generate energy for other metas since the last patch?

Is your comet putting the big shock on because of overcharge but the damage from EoW/archmage doing the CoS proc'ing?

Damn, I totally forgot about that. Checked it once more, yes, you are right, it was smth else that proceed LC.

Hello! I've been low key following this build for a while

I used to play frost bolt but it was stuttering my game sometimes, 2 times even showing me the loading screen. I switched to spark, but I'm struggling. I would like to know if it's a skill issue or if I'm missing something important. I used the frostbolt variant to clear simulacrum for the first time ever in PoE2, but can't get past Simu +1 on either variant. I tried 4 times, but die around wave 12. To be fair last time I hit something like -75%curse, +50% ele resistance, attack speed and crit on wave 12. I clicked it knowing it will be a RIP. I tried to emulate the Spark Simulacrum video, even have the extra gems (Bludgeon for Ice wall instead of Glaciation, Conc effect and Elemental focus for comet CoC).

Again, I start from the premise that it's a skill issue, but maybe I'm missing something.

Edit: PoB export is wrong, I have an extra 5 dex, for some reason not registering. 2/298 spirit available. Gem on Temporal Rift: Ingenuity, Gems on Time Freeze: Persistance, Unbreakable, Second Wind, Wind Wave

Any advice, tips and tricks are greatly apreciated.

Also where do I take the build from here in terms of power and survivability. My next purchase will be a 20 spirit gem for Archmage, but after that? Breach Rings with more mana? What else?
