Hard crashing PC locks up
"no, been this way since launch, you just joined the massive club, welcome, and judging by how ggg have handled it so far, you're now stuck here for a very long time with no explanation or fix in sight Last edited by rookere_#3104 on Dec 18, 2024, 9:48:11 AM

Time to dual boot good ol' windows 10

" Just advising while this has NOT fixed my crashing issues, it has at minimum stopped my whole PC from hard freezing. Now only the app freezes and eventually crashes instead of the whole PC. CPU: 9800x3d GPU: RTX 4090 - 566.36 driver 64gb DDR5 6000 and of course... Windows 11 24H2 cheers for the workaround. |

" had to sensibly chuckle at have to unplug my PC and Hard reboot every map change and "almost unplayable". I did that because I'm in the same spot, expect that there's no way I'm playing till the game doesn't just freeze my computer. |

Try to disable engine multithreading before changing location, after you are in, then enable it again, might work. Idk have people wrote it before or not.

After reading about a third of the messages, it seems to me that the main culprit is most likely Windows 11 24H2.

" I'm on 23h2, freezed on both. There's even a guy on Linux here or on the other thread. |

" Just my two cents: both here on the forum, on Steam, and other platforms with discussions about the game, it seems that most people experiencing this issue are on Windows 11 24h2. Not to mention all the recent news about the same thing happening with Assassin’s Creed. Personally, I didn’t have any problems during my 40 hours of gameplay, but yesterday, my system updated itself overnight while I was sleeping. Later in the evening, I experienced my first crash. I shrugged it off and went to bed. Then I saw a new game update in Steam, and now I can’t get past the main menu. |

" No it isn't, it started on 23H2 for me after the first patch they did. |
