Hard crashing PC locks up
Any update on this issue. It’s getting disheartening for me it keeps crashing my pc to a system recovery where windows has to recover that takes about 35 mins to do. I’ve given completely up on trying to follow the story line as it only happens when I leave one area and go to the next. So any cut scenes or movie scenes goes out the window. I’ve tried that application approach (lasso) where I cut some cores out of the equation but it seemed to work for one day and I’m right back to it. Only thing that seemed to work was to turn off the multi core option in game setting but then the game runs at 20fps and it’s unplayable so to the lag and input lag. I can’t get out of one shot mechanics cause it’s either lagged or my inputs are to delayed. I really hope they get a fix for this soon. I would love to play the game as it’s intended. But as of now I don’t even want to login due to it crashing and risking my hard drive to just fail.

If they work between Christmas and New Years Eve then we might see a patch on the 27 though I don't think so. Soo.... January 5th it is.

Hey guys, there's a temporary fix that somebody made to help with crashes when traversing areas due to CPU load on Win 11 24H2. If you're blue screening or locking up, I'd give it a try and see if it helps.
https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher As far as I know, it switches the core usage on transitions between zones, from what I understand the crashes are related to Auto HDR on Win 11 which results in CPU spikes to 100%. Last edited by CrisisGG#3406 on Dec 24, 2024, 2:54:57 PM

" 100% load. I thought I was clear enough. I already described what we're doing. |

" I've got a response. Here is it. |

" " This statement is wrong. Where is your proof. |

I like most of you tried everything else people have posted here and I no longer have any of the software apps like poeUncrasher or Lasso running since I did the following...
Four days ago I made a change within my PCs power plan (I'm using the Balanced plan). Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Change Plan Settings... then Change advance settings. Under Processor power management, I set maximum processor state to 95% That's it and I haven't yet had a freeze crash since! It's now Xmas day here in Sydney so Merry Xmas to you all and I hope if you have the same success running this game after doing this it's a bloody good gift. Peace |

" This is one of the well known workarounds. Not that it really works. But it is known. Currently the best workaround is PoEUncrasher which automates the workaround processes. GGG is still silent. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. |

" Well it works for me very well, placebo or not. |

Unfortunately PoEUncrasher is no longer working for me. Thanks to the PoEUncrasher dev and all the other fine folk who have been trying to create workarounds for the community, as it allowed me to get at least a few hours of gaming in for my $30. It's a pity that GGG has chosen to basically ignore this major issue and the players that are affected by it. As a result of their apathy I have decided to never again spent another dime on GGG/PoE2 microtransactions, and left a negative review on Steam.
