So I updated my WIndows 11 today because it had an update, then I updated path of exile 2. I also think maybe it is fixed. I been playing for 23 mins and no slow downs or even stutters.
Windows 11 24H2
OS Build: 26100.2894
AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D
64gb of RAM DDR5-6000
Nvidia 4090
obviously using a m.2 ssd
if something happens ill report back but its been i wanna say even smoother than I last played which was a long time ago.
edit:
When I was crashing I was on the following windows build:
Windows 11 Home 24H2
OS Build: 26100.2605
nothing else changed with my PC. I have been using the Dec 5 nvidia driver version 556.36
My motherboard is the MSI x870 tomohawk and it is on the latest BIOs update.
did this help anyone? there was a new windows 11 update like just yesterday. I am going to play more tonight but it ran really good last night for me.

Just sitting here wearing my POE2 hoodie wondering if and when I'll ever be able to play the game without destroying my hardware or buying a new rig...
Man i feel bad for you... you are a big supporter too.
I feel bad that you have spent so much money to support GGG, and they aren't fixing the game so you can play.
Also feels bad on my end too even though i've spent much less.

Even after updates I’m still pc freezing. Seems to get worse the longer I play in the day.

@converge57
One trick people do, is affinity. you can use "process lasso" to automate this...
BUT what you do is go to task manager, and right click poe. Set CPU Affinity. and uncheck 2 cpus next to eachother. 0,1 or maybe 15,16
but either way, what this does is allows 2 cores to not be used by the application, and allows for you to close it most hte time. I've had issues, but i disable some cores, and it has definitely helped - hopefully They fix the issue too.
Thank you for taking the time to give me a suggestion/temp fix mate. I may give it a go :)

I've been running the game pretty smoothly for the past two weeks using this method to play the game:
(This is strictly for 8 Core/16 thread AMD CPUs Only - tested and working on my 5800X3D for two weeks)
1. Create a desktop shortcut: (right-click anywhere on your desktop, click New -> Create Shortcut.)
2. In the "type the location of your item" box, copy-n-paste this whole thing with the quotes included: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "PathOfExileSteam" /affinity FFFC /AboveNormal "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\PathOfExileSteam.exe"
^double check that your PathOfExileSteam.exe is in the same directory as mine above there. If not, change that directory location inside the quotes to match yours.
3. On the next tab you can "name" the shortcut whatever you want. Then click Finish. There should be a shortcut icon on your desktop now.
4.Right-click on the shortcut icon, select "Advanced..." and put a CHECK in the Run as Administrator box, and make sure there is a CHECK in the "Run in separate memory space" box as well. Click OK, and then click APPLY in the main window, and then OK in the main window to finish.
5. Close Steam if it's open. It's important that you always run the shortcut launcher with Steam completely closed first.
6. Double-click the shortcut, which automatically launch Steam and the game. And for now on, just use the shortcut to run the game, not Steam.
7. If you get to the login screen without issue, don't login yet. Open the options menu first and make sure you have VULKAN enabled, if it's not already. Do not use Direct X 11 or Direct X 12.
8. You might have a brief freeze while it downloads all the Vulkan Shaders if this is your first time using Vulkan. But it should continue after a couple seconds.
9. Login to the game and play.
This works for me. No need to download or install anything from anywhere else, Just make this all by yourself. Good luck and happy hunting. Hope it helps!

So nobody willing to make a photo of PoE 2 threads in System Informer at a time of freeze? So many crashes and people are too lazy to reveal a little bit more info about what's happening inside the PoE? Well... Let's continue to cry.
With it being so easy one wonders why you have not already done this?

I'm tempted to try this, but can you explain what this is doing?

It simply:
1. Parks 2 CPU cores during your entire play session, not just during load screens
2. Sets the game's CPU priority to "AboveNormal" to allow it more CPU scheduled cycles to complete operations, like loading shaders.
3. Allocates a separate memory space to the game, instead of dynamically adjusting on the fly.
4. Runs as administrator in case you're not the administrator of your login.
Exiting the game turns that all off again.
It's similar to PoEuncrasher, except it doesn't keep parking and unparking cores, it just keeps them parked the whole game session. And it uses a slightly lower CPU priority level.
