POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
Just here to also say I have the same issue. Was fine since launch but has frozen my computer every single session so far.
Didn't crash on Windows 11 update 23. Went to 24, started crashing. Restored back to 23, continued crashing. 5800X/3080 Edit: Currently completely unplayable without PoEUncrasher. Last edited by sirit#2969 on Dec 27, 2024, 7:08:35 PM

People, i think i found solution at the moment
I tried everything. Nothing works to be honest, to avoid game freezing Of course, You can use coligation to avoid total freezes but game still can freeze I realized that the bug rely on threads schedule nad maybe there is a problem so ... i turned OFF SMT (on AMD) in UEFI. Right now - i have raw 8 cores/8 threads (instead of 8/16) but ... game dont have any problems anymore. Works fine, without freezing from 2 days On Intel - it is called HT as i remember. Try to turn off and see if will helps You btw. - "turning off" SMT on process Lasso doesnt work, You need to disable it by hardware, in UEFI |

Same here. Crashes everyday. Now even on tje loading-screen into the game. Having an AMD, so it's not on Intel for me. And yes, I've updated Windows 11. But it was fine and just broke after one update. I don't want to download any program to fix this issue, if the issue isn't on my end. I really hope that GGG sees this whole thread and tries to figure out what went wrong. Game isn't playable for so many people atm. And it's not "get a new pc". Playing on a 4060ti and had no problems on any other game.

" Thank you very much. I used to get a freeze every few hours(when i switched from dx12 to vulkan i had no freeze for 2 days but after that it came back). Now i've been playing since i saw your post(i play 8+ h each day). I had for a few second a sound loop and the cursor slowing down when joining a very loaded hideout(it happend only 2 times in total) but other than that everything works fine. Ive been shutting off CPU cores through affinity in task manager. This makes it possible to end task instead of having to killswitch your computer these past weeks. The crash on loading screen happens multiple times every day for me.
The past two days ive been using the uncrasher tool. I have not had a crash yet and I hope it holds the line. https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher System: 9800x3d 4080 |

Hi, for 3 days of playing with my "fix" i noticed, that freezing and crashing after teleport is gone.
I've got memory leak like this one in another game and fix was to change Virtual Memory. For people who don't know how to do it: https://mcci.com/support/guides/how-to-change-the-windows-pagefile-size/ Just take your RAM size (in my case is 32 GB) and multiply it by 1.5 = So 32 x 1,5 = 48. And next step is multiply it with 1024 (correct value of 1GB to MB). 48 x 1024 = 49152. Try this "fix" and let know. Cheers. Last edited by Nickellson#6320 on Dec 27, 2024, 8:33:37 AM

" Same specs as you. Didn’t play for like 10 days and kinda just said let me try the Uncrasher. I played for two hours a few nights ago and the log showed it recovered from a crash by moving the app to realtime. But tbh, I have such a sour taste in my mouth from all the crashing I been dealing with that I didn’t even have motivation to play even though it was actually working |

Most horrible Early Access I have ever experienced because of this. This is some pre-alpha bug you should feel bad GGG...

Task Manger - Details - Right Click - Set affinity unclick 1-2 procesors off path of exile 2 and it will not lock up ur whole pc and poe2 will crash then u will be able to reopen it again.
This is very bad bug and they should fix it, until then u have workaround. |
