POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Hey all

Was this issue solved in any way? Maybe some new drivers or Windows update?

I have made clean install of 23H2 like 3 weeks ago (and paused all Win updates) and since then I had zero issues but one day I would like to update to 24H2 again without having PC frezes.

Thanks!

from 6th december to 26th december on this same win 10 version without updating nothing besides nvidia..

Have you tried to rolled back for nvidia? Uninstall the latest drive and download the previous drive you remember that didn't crash for you.

i'll try that as last ressort, and update if it help in anyway.. but not sure if it will fix for real. since the crash started while i was on this very driver version. i just started to updating and/or reverting to pior versions after the crashes became too much, like unplayable. It was a Nvidia Studio driver, version i can't remember but im sure i didn't update any drivers during this playtime without crashes, so it was a version prior the launch of EA.

Don't think I've had a crash in the rest of those games (got a 9800X3D and a 4090) and haven't seen much on those games crashing in general either in 24h2 as far as a hard system crash. I've played multiple UE5 (several hours in Marvel) games without issue and yet I got this 100% loop bs a whole mess of times before I gave up on it. PoE's crashing issues are entirely different. Its either the code or something to do with DX12/Vulkan because even Linux has issues with it and I'm pretty sure they are using either Proton or Wine, which are more or less Windows API emulators for Linux.

Making assumptions based on personal experiecne is a bad practice. Because you, I, other people have very small and limited sample size. We have reports from users with the similar problem playing different games and from UE developers that can't compile shaders safely without getting a crash.

Anyway. My question was about the roots of the problem. Don't you think if the user space program hangs the system up and not allowing to process interrupts there must be something really serious on the deeper layers of the system and not just "loading CPU to 100%"?

Not making assumptions, only adding personal experience from what I've seen on Reddit etc. More the reason I'd point to code its done it on multiple platforms, Windows 11 24/3/2H2, Windows 10 and Linux and on a range of hardware. I have seen some reports on AMD gpus but not nearly as many as Nvidia but I think that is more market saturation more than anything. I've seen this issue happening on both Intel and AMD processors about equally so I don't think its anything to do with CPU platform. So I'll ask you straight up, Why would you think it happens in Linux and Windows alike? Seeing how there system resources are handled entirely differently and their kernels aren't even remotely similar.
Can confirm Poe uncrasher works. 9800X3D 4080 super haven’t crashed in over a week 10+ hours
