POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
|
After many posts, xx freezes and tests now i can playin without freezing.
PoEUncrusher and optimization POE2 by nvidia app help with freezing but... Now i have only D3d crushin.. Maybe one in whole week. I have win11 v24 64b updated GPU, bios PS. I played about 40h with new character with POEUncrasher and optimization NVIDIA without freezing. Last edited by czarrnuch#4979 on Jan 4, 2025, 4:35:55 AM

Das konnte ich bis jetzt nicht rausfinden Mfg T0despudel ---------------------------- I have/had the same problem. The game freezes after an indefinite amount of time. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I noticed that after a cold start of the PC, the freezing doesn't occur. The only difference for me would be the Windows hibernation mode. Even if you don't explicitly choose hibernation, Windows writes something there anyway. This speeds up the boot process of the computer. I have now executed the following command in PowerShell (Admin mode) before starting PoE2: powercfg -h off - This deactivates the hibernation mode (and removes the hyberfil.sys file, which stores information for the restart) After that, I reactivated the mode again: powercfg -h on Since I did this, I haven't experienced any freezing anymore (for several days now). What's strange is that it doesn't seem to be the hibernation mode itself that's the problem. It must be something that Windows writes to the hibernation file when shutting down or something that's written when starting up. I haven't been able to figure out what it is yet. Best regards T0despudel |

There is no working fix.
Nothing. Its all in your head, sometimes it works for 3 days and then it crashes 3 times in a row on a freshly booted system. Every "fix" is just a misunderstanding between cause and effect and correlation. There is absolutely nothing that can be done on your side about it, so people should stop to ruin their systems by changing stuff on their OS, that doesn't help in the end. The only thing avDailable to mitigate the freeze is processor affinity, but it wont help with the freezes itself. TL;DR, the freezes are absolutely random and all your "fixes" are doing nothing you just believe so because you change something, randomly it works, and you are under the false impression that it was "the fix" you did. It did not. |

best hope is to wait till someone use this freezes/crashes to somehow dupe items.. and make it public info. Only this way for fix to come, same day or next..

" I can confirm this changes the behavior of the game's process and of PoEUncrasher FOR ME PERSONALLY. I always run PoEUncrasher, in Admin mode, and it always has to set the PoE2 process to realtime with every zone transition as described below, or the game freezes otherwise. " That causes this warning message to show: " After running "powercfg -h off" to remove C:\hiberfil.sys as T0despudel#1349 describes (whether you use hibernation mode or not), PoEUncrasher no longer needs to set the PoE2 process to realtime for me. That makes a difference for this particular type of freeze or crash in terms of loading speed and stability, for me. I still use PoEUncrasher to park cores but it no longer has to "uncrash" the game by setting the process to realtime. Running "powercfg -h on" after you're done playing reenables hibernation mode. After I've tried a million things since PoEUncrasher was released, this is the first change that has been reliable, for me. Well, looks like things got worse, now the game freezes (not responding) just by being in town doing stash work.

Example console output while transitioning through zones and loading screens.
Hibernation mode on (C:\hiberfil.sys exists). " Hibernation mode off (C:\hiberfil.sys does not exist). " PoE2: A good, giving game

"That makes no sense. It's a client crash, not a server crash. IGN: vieira

" I expected one to catch the irony, it was a joke. Just to point the fact that they are just fixing duping/exploits and OP builds rn, not giving any attention to this crash issues at all. That's why i wished there was a exploit linked to this issue, cause maybe they would give more attention then. People are using third paty apps to make the game run, for almost a month by now.. Not even a single word from them since 10/12. I don't wanna be mean i sweear, just want to play the game. |
