POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
|
Dear GGG!
Can't you just disable Engine Multithreading during the loading screens? It would be a massive workaround until it is fixed. I'm getting bored to disable it manually when i'm changing maps, and the game runs around 30 fps on my 5800x3d without multithreading and stable 120 with multithreading, so the difference is huge enough to make it worth switching on every time. Unfortunately i can't use third party apps... please fix this. Best regards, bred |

I haven't had a single crash yet, only high CPU loads during loading screens.
Now after the recent hotfixes, the high CPU loads even went down abit, so it got even better. This is my setup for reference. i9-14900KF Z790-F BIOS 2703 NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4090 (v566.36) DDR5 6000Mhz 64GB (XMP enabled) Windows 11 (23H2) Optimization for games in windows mode is off. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) is on. I haven't messed with the cores at all. In game-settings: DirectX 12 Vsync Adaptive (144) Dynamic Resolution on Resolution 1920x1080 Upscale Mode NVIDIA DLSS HDR off Graphics medium to high Nvidia reflex On Boost Triple-buffering off |

" Average PoE player. " I just don't believe you're former engineer based on your statement. Did you test others thousands of 3D applications on thousands of thousands hardware / software configuration combos? God... And if you're actual engineer you had to work with the drivers and should know how the things are very fragile at this level. |

btw guys make sure to try and get your comments in for the livestream on sunday, when they're doing a live podcast.
they should absolutely have it as one of their questions for the devs, regarding the status of this being fixed "You feel an evil presence watching you..."

Same problem here. This is not a Windows issue, it is a POE2 issue. Issue persisting since product was installed on a brand new build with entirely new parts. Running:
Mobo: X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI Processor: 9800X3D RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 6000MHz GFX: 4070 SUPER Running on Win 23H2. The claim that rolling back Win to a previous version as a surefire fix is inaccurate. This works for some but not for others. In game settings don't matter, as it persists through all variety of configurations. Downvoted on Steam until a fix is implemented and play ceased for now. If no fix is implemented, I will refund the game. Last edited by RamirezSE#0149 on Jan 10, 2025, 6:11:50 AM

" I have the same build, except with a 4080 super, and I have the same exact issues. You will have hordes of toadies on GGG payroll marching in to tell you that it's your rig's fault, and not the game. Be prepared. |

another Day on GGG's office..
Honestly hoping today is they day they fix this crashes | |
|
I hope they highlight the PC crashes in the patch interview stream.
There's no point in discussing anything else with the game if you can't get past the damn character selection screen... My fear with them talking to Twitch streamers is that they'll just get dumb, softball gameplay questions and butt-kissing. Windows 11 24H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD

" I built a very similar setup except with a 4080 super this fall. When these problems started happening during the first week of release, one of the first things i did was run stress tests with 3dmark to make sure it wasn't my system. I ran a total of 200 loops with no issues, i stress tested it several times with the Wukong Benchmark aswell as played 100+ hours of it on cranked up settings, had no problems with any other title prior to PoE2 that i've played on it. I literally was idling in town yesterday and it locked my PC again. Whoever is arguing that it is not a PoE2 issue is illinformed and should just keep to themselves. |

" Your entire system crashes, not just PoE 2. |
