Are you in contact about this issue with Microsoft, like Ubisoft was?

“Only happens on NVIDIA cards” not true.
“Crashes to desktop” not true.
“Hard to reproduce” huh??????

I understand it’s difficult to fix things but those answers are not reassuring.

Because you're not talking about the same issue.
You know that a variety of things can cause a game to crash right?

And as I said before, the specific issue of this thread here, which relate to a system-wide freeze/crash rather than game crashing and going back to desktop, is NOT on their end.

IF you have a freaking whole-system freeze/crash, diagnose your system to find the actual cause of the issue; the game is not the CAUSE of your system instability, simply a symptom.
Are you insane? POE2 is the ONLY game or software that does this to my brand new PC. This is 100% the game's issue. Get out of this thread.

Completely wrong and obviously has no idea how software works. Please stop posting this type of dribble in this thread while we wait for the software developers to address their issues.

This does nothing more than deflect the issue (whether GGG or not). Clearly have no understanding of this specific issue and the machines it is impacting. Spend your time elsewhere if you can't bother to post something constructive to this widespread issue. Definitely feels like the most myopic post I have seen regarding this issue,

You're having FULL, system-wide freeze/crash?
If so, are you:

a. On Windows 11 24H2? -> Go back to W10 or W11 23H2
b. NVidia GPU, using a different driver than 566.36? -> Upgrade NVidia Driver specifically to 566.36
c. On Intel 13th gen or 14th gen CPU and not on latest BIOS? -> Upgrade BIOS

These 3 are the most common crash causes.
If you're not in any of the above situation, then it can be a range of other things, but these are a start.

Felt obligated to post this since I’ve been dealing with frequent crashes and BSODs since launch while running POE2 (no issues before starting the game). I tried all the recommended fixes, but nothing seemed to work. I tested all my hardware components, and it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue.

Tonight, my PC blue-screened while running a different game, which led me to investigate further. After running chkdsk C: /f /c in Command Prompt, I found that I had some corrupted system files. These files were repaired, and I tried launching POE2 again. Before running CHKDSK, I couldn’t even get past the character selection screen. However, after the repair, I was able to successfully get into the game without needing to disable cores or make other changes.

It’s possible that the corrupted system files were caused by my system crashing earlier rather than being the original cause of the crashes, but it doesn’t hurt to try fixing them.

Hope this helps!

This sounds like a hard drive issue :/ Have you tried checking the S.M.A.R.T health of your drive through CrystalDiskInfo?
I'm glad your issue is resolved for now, but I'm a bit afraid that you might have some actual issue with your drive :( Hope not, but you'd better check to be sure IMHO. If it's a NVME drive, make sure you peeled the tape that's on the motherboard's NVME slot shroud if you have one of those!

Thanks for the tips! I haven't tried that, but I will tomorrow to be safe. Hopefully it's not an issue with the SSD itself.
