POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

The sad thing is I bought this game to play early yet I dont even play it since 1 month now. I am about the delete the game and move on to free console version when it releases.

Crickets in the 'youtube live show' or whatever that happened earlier. It's JOEVER boys.

If you have new hardware (not stinky poopy GPUs/CPUs), then you're likely not going to get to play much of the early access because this was optimized for 5+ year old GPUs/CPUs.

But they fixed that one NPC in Act 1 to play her flute or whatever properly... so that's cool.

Is there a way to disable multithreading option and/or change from D12 to Vulkan outside the game (config file)? My PC crashed straight after launching POE 2, before reaching the splash screen/login/option GUI.

engine_multithreading_mode=enabled and change it to disabled. Save and run the game.

Using PoeUncrasher, game still freezes and doesnt recover with realtime for me. But what it does do is help prevent having to hard reset pc atleast. So if you want to play with the game only crashing then this is a good easy option for right now. Also BES unlimiter set at 15-20% will reduce amount of crashing to maybe only 1-3 crashes every 10-20 hours, but doesn't entirely get rid of the crashes. But imo with these two combined the game is playable until actual fix is implemented. I havn't tried rolling back windows yet, seeing too many mixed reviews on that one. Although irritating, if you really are desperate and bored enough, i recommend doing this for the momment.(AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D NVIDIA 4070)

i want to play the game... i didnt even reache engame yet

i have barely experienced this game.

i tried to turn off and on multi threads for a little while





i am not going to do this anymore, i am not going to play until this is fixed

and i deeply want to play the game


i even bought the thaumaturge pack, that's how much i love the game

but i am not going to deal with it this way to be able to play it

Thank you so much for acknowledge with this reply. I really wanna play the game but dont wanna brick my computer with having to power it off beacuse it just freeze up. Hope you come to a fix very soon!

This is a freaking joke. I would unnderstand if there was a sever issue within their networking code and they didnt know how to fix in until release as long as they would let us know about it. The silent treatment make me f*cking angry!

and what a f*cking joke of a intterview stream, makes me wonder if Ghazzy and DM were even allowed to bring up the multithreading issue or if thet were under some kind of NDA.

Lost my respect for Ghazzy last night cause the chat brought in up with him after the interview but he kept saying they asked and got answered by GGG and refused to acknowledge that they didnt say squat about it.

Funny how smart people coming and telling exactly what the fault is while also saying GGG is quite because they dont know exactly whats causing it :D

That's a regular game crash. As I said, just the game crashing itself is indeed often an actual game bug, and that's something GGG could fix. So this one looks like a legitimate, regular game freeze/crash, which is not what this forum thread is about / what I was talking about. That's not a full PC freeze/crash.

you have no clue what you are on about. POE2 causing a full pc freeze/crash right now with a lot of people hence this thread and you fan boy pretend it's not a GGG issue but others.

PC freeze/crash because poe2 is somehow using 100% cpu all cores hence the crash.

Current work around for people crashes like me since the recent POE2 update:

1. launch poe2
2. open task manager
3. find and right click poe2 and detail
4. set affinity, unclick a few cores so not all cores are used by POE2

By doing this, the game will still crash as it does but because some of the cores are not used by POE2, you can still open task manager or wait for windows to kill poe2 instead of hard restart every single time.
