POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
Hello everyone,
I work around that I find fix the issue is using a community build tools all code in here : https://github.com/CrimsonED1/POE2loadingPainFix Download latest version here: https://github.com/CrimsonED1/POE2loadingPainFix/releases/download/version0.9/release09_inclNet8.zip This is not an official tool and it is not acceptable to be required I might add but it works perfectly for me with a amd 9700x processor in Windows 11 24h2. Its only applying the affinity in the loading screens. |

" Then why that doesn't happen with any other game, I've played dozens since 24H2, no freezes. The one common denominator for this issue has been a single name: Path of Exile, 1 or 2, it happens in both. It's not Windows, it's not Nvidia, it's not faulty hardware, it's not AMD, X3D, or whatever excuse you need to come up to absolve your favorite "Corporate Entity", it's this game and its predecessor, and it's probably related to bad coding buried deep in... somewhere, that dates back to the stone age. I also work in IT btw. |

And yet still, multiple different reports of multiple different crashes with multiple different solutions and you all wonder why its so hard for them to resolve the issue.......
You gotta love how every other post is someone telling the rest of us exactly what the problem is but then the next post is a completely different solution and the answer to every single one is this should be an easy fix. It is disappointing that they didnt address the hard crashing issue on the tavern talk and only touched on one type of crash (which you could kind of see was going to happen with the way the interview was going IE they didnt even get onto this topic until like 10 minutes left of the interview but it also goes to show that none of these threads are about a specific issue it is multiple different issues that they have to figure out but the responses in these threads is a bit of a joke no? Everyones a tech or internet expert nowadays. We got the "Complete PC Freeze" thread as well as the "Hard Crashing PC" thread that should be about the same issue but both have multiple different crashes reported in them. You got people crying out that the games development should be stopped because they cant play the game, others claiming this is a cash grab, others claiming no communication ever....... I am also affected by this hard crashing issue on loading screens you know what I did, made some posts, added to some threads and stopped playing the game instead of risking my hardware but some seem to think the best solution is to keep spamming the game until it finally works or it breaks their computer and refuse to accept accountability for their own actions. Touch grass, not being able to play a game for a couple of weeks / months isnt the end of the world like is being made out | |
" TBF the best solution is to not play PoE 1 or 2, I've done it myself, got to ACT 3 Cruel and haven't been able to progress since because I don't want to jeopardize my PC. Rebooting from a completely crashed OS several times a day is not good, and you don't need to work in IT to know that. Also, installing or implementing workarounds, however well intentioned they are, it's not good either, since the freezing can happen at one point, but the catastrophic chain of events that lead to it may start somewhere else and so far the extent of the damage that can cause is also an unknown. However, it has been VERY frustrating that the largest issue in the game currently hasn't even been acknowledged by the Devs (outside of a couple brief posts on this very thread) or by any of the usual "talking heads", they'd rather ramble about "item find" and "muh ekonomy" than to voice the concerns of large portions of the community in regards to an issue that is very serious. Game crashes are normal in EA, but an OS crash caused by a game isn't, and the lack of communication by GGG on this matter has been as infuriating as the bug itself. On that same line, telling the people venting their frustrations due not only to the bug, but also to GGG's almost absolute silence on the matter, to "touch grass" is as useless as the "myriad solutions" that solve nothing and that are being posted on this thread almost on a daily basis. |

" Bro, we literally paid for early access. You know, both the early and the access part. The part that doesnt work and the part that is over if we wait and touch grass? |
|
" I've been touching grass for a month, they still haven't done anything to fix or address the issue. Do I meet your approval? Am I allowed to criticize a broken product I paid for yet? |

Just last night, I had to completely reformat my computer (which is only two weeks old)—a high-end build with a 4080 Super, 9800X3D, and 64GB of RAM—after it suffered four hard shutdowns. The Event Viewer was full of critical warnings, including errors about a failed Secure Boot update and the Nvidia OpenGL driver being missing. After the reformat, things seem to be working fine for now, but I’m not holding my breath. I haven’t even dared to reinstall the game yet, as I’m genuinely concerned it will cause another hard freeze and potentially damage my new setup.
This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. While I understand that the developers might not want to acknowledge a problem on their end for legal reasons, it’s hard to ignore the impact this has had on my system. I fully intend to update my review on Steam once this issue is resolved. A game, whether in early access or not, should never be causing this level of harm to users’ machines. |

I did not get a reply to my support ticket it has been 1 month, and I also can not play this game due to this freezing issue.. They are losing my trust really.

" Your trust should have been lost 2-3 weeks ago. |

Imagine that you have never had the opportunity to play a computer game normally in your life. You had to earn a living for yourself and your family. And so, having finally found a more or less paid job, you saved up money for a used computer, came up with a game you wanted to play, worked nights to get time off before the holidays... And now you have no more free time to play, you are not getting your money back for the game, you decided to sell the computer to somehow get your money back, but you still sometimes visit the forum to find out what is going on... What kind of grass to touch are you talking about?
