POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
|
I had this issue even before patch and it was barely playable, but after the latest patch, I am even hard freezing IN and DURING a map, not only while loading into instances, this made the game completly unplayable for me, I hope they manage to fix this.

How this is not priority #1 is mind boggling. Wish I could refund this game. I love spending money on games I cant play due to fear of destroying my computer. Yay.

I already deleted the game before patch but I got curious after I see how common it got and installed again and the game freezed while opening the map lol. Immediately deleted again <3

" First of all the issue has nothing to do with Windows 11 24H2 at all. During the rollback something else has happened that happened to "shift" you out of the Path of Exile 2 code's "thresholds of crash". By "thresholds of crash" I mean whatever that is in GGG's code that starts the whole resource hog loop. There is something in that code that starts the whole problem interaction, and unless GGG puts it out for an actual expert to see it will never be fixed because these type of things do not happen by accident. Simply put, there is something in Path of Exile 2's code that is not accounting for an important core utilization logic and it is beyond the knowledge of all PoE2 programmers at hand. This is not an accident but rather a systemic problem. A good example for one such systemic problem is Chinese games and system languages. In case you are not in the know, many Chinese Games such as Tale of Immortal have a problem where the game is unable to be launched or crashes afterwards due to system language being different. (See: https://tale-of-immortal.fandom.com/wiki/Known_Bugs_and_Fixes ). Just like in that case, PoE2's issues are also unrelated to the Windows itself. The problem is how the game's code is interacting with the system. In the simplest explanation: If you are in Rome you must do as Romans do. Although in PoE2's case it is having trouble in both Rome(Windows) and Carthage(Linux). If this was an accident(such as a vestigial code somewhere messing up the whole) it would have been found out by now, because they should have been able to read through the entire code within these 6 weeks or at worst within these 15 days. By itself, Windows 11 24H2 has nothing to do with the Path of Exile 2 hard crash issue. If it did the following would not happen with the exact same way and with the exact same trigger: 1) Linux crashes 2) Windows 10 22H2 crashes 3) Windows 11 23H2 crashes Second, even when they first put up that "mostly Win 11 24H2 issue" portion, we knew it had nothing to do with Windows 11 24H2. At that point both this thread and the other had received wide array of reports that have cleared OS as a cause of crash. Third I do not think anyone in GGG can be more able than I am in statistics. This portion of detecting the issue via available data has nothing to do with "engagement" or even "programming". This is pure statistics. Saying this is mostly a Windows 11 24H2 issue is like saying dying is mostly a female issue in humans because 51% of the dead humans are females. Furthermore, I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others be aware of the issue and so that we can fight against misinformation. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. " High-end is at least 9800X3D, not older 7600 from mid segment. And you're right, the more power your CPU has - less errors and crashes you experience. You just need better CPU and overclock it. Everyone know the programs crash because of lack of CPU power. Also even if you didn't use your CPU, storing it in the original box or package, after some time (year or two) the amount of crashes also will increase. So it's importand to use only fresh and brand new CPUs for your tasks. I'd suggest to make another upgrade for you if you have enough money. ----------- Dude you can't be serious by posting this. Just another one person that didn't read the topic. |

Windows 11 24h2 is starting to roll out automatically to people. I suspect we'll be getting more people posting to this thread. For me, disabling engine multi-threading is the only thing letting me play the game.
