POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
Hi all, try the following:
1) Get any app that can manage CPU cores affinity (e.g. Process Lasso) and set its services to startup with OS. 2) Permanently disable just a single core for PoE2 process (efficient core for Intel is enough) in the app. Worked for me Last edited by MrBaseMax#2731 on Feb 3, 2025, 1:52:22 AM

Didn't read all the 500+ pages! but for those still having the PC freeze did you try to set the CPU affinity?
The method to do that is posted in this thread: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3596176/page/3#p25542348 Also, to avoid crash at start up, the game like a fresh started PC! with the least possible process loaded in memory! To do that just press CTRL+ALT+DEL, chose Disconnect from account, then reconnect to your account, this will unload all unnecessary process from memory. After that don't start anything! just launch POE 2. This may help! And this is a workaround not a fix, but at least it remove the PC freeze problem! |

" This is not about defending or attacking anyone. By oversimplifying things like you do, you completely miss the point of the work that goes on behind the scenes due to lack of information. For some reason, even after two months of waiting, you fail to realize that the problem has WAY wider scope than just fixing a few lines of code in the game engine. [Removed by Support] stop using these categories when it comes to complex systems. I have explained many, many times why other layers are involved in PC freezes, I am not going to copy-paste my own posts again. And I never said it was purely a Windows issue, [Removed by Support] " Even. Sounds like it has some special magic ability to "uncrash" the game. Read how exactly it works, the source code is open. I already proposed workaround for the people who wants to play PoE 2 despite the freezes, at least it's working way to enjoy the game. It's a little bit complex but not a big deal if you have a lot of free time. Last edited by Vash_GGG#0000 on Feb 3, 2025, 7:47:29 PM

Setting cpu affinity did nothing to solve the problem, I turned off 2 cores. I also turned off multi threading which made the game almost unplayable but did not fix the problem.
Anyone know if there are logs I can send in to help fix this problem. |
they finally fixed the crashing issue in their recent update
No they did not. I am still experiencing freeze on a daily basis multiple times.

Crazy some people are fixed others are not, you'd almost think this wasnt an easy fix like all the "tech experts" in this thread are claiming lol and you still have people claiming GGG dont care and this is a scam LMFAO because this clearly not easy fix isnt fixed yet

Hello everyone! I managed to solve my problem today with a very simple solution, and it wasn't OS update as they say, or decrease general resolutions of POE2. It was simply verifying the integrity of the downloaded file on STEAM. After carrying out this verification, three missing files were found. And redone the Downloads I can access normally without any crashing or map loading problem. !
Well that worked for me, I hope it works for you too! Success to all! |

Steam verificacion done, nothing changed, still freezes, but sinze the last windows update less common.
