POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" It started years ago, after Steam Deck release. Anyway, hardware vendors and / or Microsoft should co-operate to fix the bug which affects specific OS and the KBs. Technically GGG can make workaround but it won't fix the bug. User-mode applications should never ever crash / freeze your system. Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Dec 11, 2024, 7:01:13 AM

By all means continue to run Linux and let us know when you hit other bugs or performance issues that you only don't know about now because almost nobody else has bothered to try it.
If we're at the stage of the thread where we're recommending people switch their operating systems I think I'm safe in saying POE2 is a mess. Feel free to rely on the 'comfort' that a handful of Ubisoft games, of all devs, also crash, but the fact that 99% of other games run fine says more about Ubisoft than it does MS imo. Even the guys who made Diablo 4 are able to sidestep this deadly trap laid by MS, what does that say about GGG? |

The modern systems are incredibly complex and sofisticated, what do you suggest? To have all possible and impossible hardware and software configurations with different versions to test? Dude...
Some of those guys from MS / vendors produced hidden critical bug which has been waiting for the certain conditions. And now the time has come - some users are experiencing issues with the freezes. I proposed to switch the OS just to test is it affected by specific OS or not. Last edited by cursorTarget#1174 on Dec 11, 2024, 7:51:36 AM

when are they fixing this?
this is the ONLY game that gives me problems, in fact the first time since i have this build that I needed to restart the computer because of the system wide freeze than POE causes, this happens on dx12 and vulkan and even that software that limits the cpu doesn't work 100% of the time. The game is literally unplayable for me. 3070 Ti + 5800x3d |

" Sorry to inform you but this very likely has nothing to do with GGG and all with Microsoft, PoE is not the only game. The fact D4 doesnt suffer from this doesnt mean anything, its only that engines are different and react differently. duh GGG Patch Notes: "Fixed an unwanted interaction where players had fun playing the game" Last edited by coyd#6278 on Dec 11, 2024, 8:00:15 AM

I'm also having my PC freeze. It's always random, and I have GPU-Z running. I do not see anything wrong with my system. It's definitely the game. I don't know if it's because of the recent Windows update, but I hope they have a fix for this soon!

" As you can see in the article you sharder, Ubisoft has promtly released temporary fix with the recent patch. You can read it in patch notes for those games, besides Assasins Creed titles.. GGG should do the same with POE 2 (and 1). Release temporary fix that in some way prevents the game from using 100% of your CPU while at loading screen (or anything else) even at cost od sacrificing the performance. Until the issue is fully solved by new cpu/nvidia drivers and windows update. As you know, Windows will not release any win update in drcember besides security ones. " Sure, no. Game only creates the conditions that activate the chain of on your OS / hardware causing the freeze. It's not GGG fault. " Exactly. You're completely correct. Sort of workaround would be nice but it's basically not a fix. But as temporariy fix it will do the job. But as you understand people blame GGG for that anyway. " Well, you said it. That means GGG can make some changes to the game, or engine, to temporary stop these conditioms to happen. If 99% of crashes are happening at the loading screen, then GGG should be able to find the cause. Yes, people blame anyone at this point. Many were waiting for years, taking PTOs, buying $2-4000 PCs just to play POE 2. Also, if GGG feels pressures, they might want to talk to the business partners asking them to push the drivers and windows updates quicker. See Ubisoft, they are so big that they force microsoft and amd/nvidia/intel to put resources into fixing this. Last edited by Waiden#9514 on Dec 11, 2024, 8:14:31 AM
