POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more

So This is just a suggestion since I had been having the exact same issues. Tried multiple different ways of fixing it. Even disabling multithreading non of it worked. I'm also on windows 11 24H2.
However there is one thing that worked and even allowed me to turn multithreading back on and ramp up the graphics. Heck the fix that worked also fixed the same type of crashing i was experiencing on helldivers 2.

There is a setting under your system-Display-Graphics on your pc called Optimization for windowed games. It's supposed to reduce latency and such. How ever appearently it was the reason for my crashing. It's only a suggestion for you to give a try. But turn that off and give Poe 2 a go and see if it fixes your issue as well.

Doing some testing on this today, I'll try to report back later. This is a possible workaround, not a permanent fix.

AMD 5600X
32GB RAM
nVidia 3070
Win11 24H2
DirectX 12

I get the crashes on load screens like everyone else here. Full computer freeze, force power off needed. So today I tried something different, and I was able to recover from the freeze. As-in, the game was locked/frozen, and I returned the game to a playable state without closing anything or restarting. It does require you to make changes to the priority and affinity of the PoE2 process every time you launch it. Do not follow these instructions if you are unsure of what you are doing, but we are only be changing the PoE2 process so there is not much danger here. See below, the order of operations matters.

0. This may or may not matter but prior to the steps below, I had manually set my paging file settings. I did custom size and set the initial size to 1/4 of my RAM (8192 MB) and max size to a little over my total RAM (33000). Feel free to also make this change if you are comfortable with it.

1. Launch the game, get to login screen (hopefully you're getting this far at least)
2. Open task manager
3. Right-click PoE2 process -> Go To Details
4. Right-click PathOfExileSteam.exe process and select SET AFFINITY
5. Uncheck the LAST 4 CPU threads and click OK (for me this is CPU 8-11, you may have more cores)
6. Right-click PathOfExileSteam.exe process and select SET PRIORITY -> Realtime

So now my short story about recovering the frozen game. I had done all of the above steps EXCEPT I had set the priority to HIGH instead of REALTIME. Launched the game, game froze on a zone load like before. However, since we freed 4 CPU threads from the clutches of PoE2, we can still ALT+TAB back to Windows. So I left the game frozen and went to my desktop and task-manager again. I changed the priority to REALTIME, and went back to the game. Game is unfrozen and fully playable.

So setting PoE2 to Realtime priority literally unfroze the game, and you just have to reserve a few threads for Windows. Yes, this is pretty similar to what the POEUncrasher is doing, but without needing to install and run anything extra.

3 freezes in 5 mins omg pls fix it
Hi everyone, I had lots of issues while trying to play the game but finally I manage to play it stable without crashes for hours (after trying almost everything I saw online), my specs are:

CPU: AMD 7700X
GPU: Nvidia RTX4090
SO: Win24H2

Requirements:

BES 1.8.0-test31 - link: mion.yosei.fi/BES/
zanepoe2-fix-crashes-exe.zip - link: nexusmods.com/pathofexile2/mods/9?tab=files

How to:

Create file named, for example: PoE2.bat

Add the lines:

echo "Starting PoE Limiters"
timeout 2
"C:\PATH_TO_BES_1.8.0-test31\BES.exe" "E:\PATH_TO_SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\PathOfExileSteam.exe" 15 -m | "C:\PATH_TO_zanepoe2-fix-crashes\zane_poe2_X3D_fix_crashes.exe"
timeout 2
exit

On Steam, go to PoE 2 -> Properties, then in GENERAL add to LAUNCH OPTIONS:
C:\PATH_TO_BATCHFILE_CREATED\PoE2.bat | %command%

Launch the game and play without worries

I hope this works for everyone as good as it does for me,
Best Regards to all
They still haven't fixed the problem after 2 months???
BUMP

Guys, if you have any issues regarding performance leave a negative review on steam.
