Why POE2’s Direction Is Worrying for Veterans and Newcomers Alike

They really just need to come out and say what the long-term plan is here. What the worst case scenarios are, especially.

Like, let's say, 90% of people love PoE 2, and only 10% play PoE 1, what kind of support and shelf-life can PoE 1 players expect?

Or what if the opposite happens - 90% of people play PoE 2 for 2 or 3 leagues, and decide that actually, they hate it. What happens to PoE 2, then?

Because the people, who are not in it for the long haul, don't care either way. But those, who are, really want to know.

Breach. There are some feedback about breaches that became introduced to the players at mapping. People have never seen them in the main campaign, so when they get swarmed by monsters - theyre not thinking about changing anything in their character, they come here to say that this is a bad game mechanic. And there is a reason - when you meet them at a campaign - you are punished for failing by walking back. At maps - youre punished by exp/waystones. And while in acts you can keep in mind that you need to deal with monster swarms and adapt your build accordingly, in maps you need to butcher an established character with much more costly item and skill changes. Im not saying that the unfinished campaign is bad, im just simply trying to prove my point.

PoE 2 would be dead without them. Nobody wants to play Standard forever, that's why its a ghost town in PoE 1.

They have said this, MULTIPLE FUCKING TIMES.

POE1 is here to stay, it will continue to get updates and new leagues. POE2 will do the same. They will stagger them, so POE1 and POE2 will never start a new league at the same time (so if POE1 league starts in Jan, POE2 league won't start until maybe mid Feb).

Then your position is a lost cause, because no matter what you say or no matter what you tell yourself to believe. THERE WILL BE LEAGUES whether you like it or not. This has been an INDUSTRY STANDARD for modern LIVE SERVICE like PoE1, & PoE 2 will not be any different.

So if you are still pursuing that dream, that POE2 will be better if there's none, then sorry just find another game, or just play the Standard mode if you don't want to participate in leagues.

This is not a counterarguement for that statement either, so we cant conclude who is closer to a truth. Please respond to what ive said about breaches, because your point of view on this SPECIFIC example of my previous "speculations" can be interesting to hear.
