Trading Is A Very Bad Experience in POE2

Trading in this game is the worst experience i’ve had with anything in my life. Today i’ve spent 2h straight trying to get a helmet. 160 players messaged, no response. If an item is to sell, i should be able to buy it. Something that forces players to deliver the item if it was put to sale. You don’t have to put up items for sale, but if you do and there’s a buyer, there should be an incentive to do it friggin asap. At least a red warning hiding the entire screen with a loud siren every 30 seconds that player X wants to buy an item that’d only goes away if you sell or take the item off the market
.
I agree.
Anything that takes you away from the game flow is mediocre design.

And on top of it, an out of game website? What is this? Battlefield server browser?! The (bad) memories...

- get you item to an NPC
- set your desired price
- pay a fee
- wait

Should be as simple as this!
GGG have made it clear they despise the very idea of an Auction House, and they have listed multiple reasons as to why it's bad.. Unfortunately, they refuse to list the reasons as to why their current system is also bad.

PoE1 went this way its entire life span, PoE2 will be the same.

I mean, I don't like the idea of crafting currency being actual currency either.. I thought with Gold we would finally be able to buy Orbs from NPC's and just farm and trade in Gold.. but I guess the economy in PoE2 will end up exactly the same as PoE1.. and we all know how that worked out. With 1% holding all the wealth, just like reality.
I AM ERROR
Trying to do trades like this is frustrating.

You cant depend on people to be mentally present to accept the direct whisper.
Most of the time they are sitting in the hideout not responding or switching between maps ignoring or with disabled whispers.

It needs to be an auction house or at least some escrow service where the traded item is locked and automatically transferred without player interaction.

yes
For price checks download and use Sidekick you can hover over items in game and it does price checks for you so you understand what items are worth
Knowing the price of something isnt an issue at all. Its the experience and the problems it creates by relying on humans.

I get it for good gear you want to haggle and get a good price. If you're trading for trash level up gear worth single exalts its the worst experience.

I don't want an auction house.
I want to buy directly via an in-game UI.
Done and dusted.
I'm sick of wasting countless hours trying to buy something only do deal with all the bots scammers and bullshit.

100% Yes
Posers that list their stuff up for 1 EX only to raise them up to 10 Div all of a sudden because they got a hit deserves an auto-ignore / mute / perman ignore list from me.

Based on this i reckon my list might be full upon the full release in 25 hmm ??
