Trading Is A Very Bad Experience in POE2

In my opinion, I would like not to have AH because trade in poe1 was... Let's say ok... But in Poe2 we have different situation. Maps are huge and ppl don't want to leave before end.
Second thing is... If something is worth 1 exalt... Probably you don't need it, and you have some nub problem not trade problem.

The original trading system in PoE1 was fine...I don't understand why they changed it in the first place.

This new "trade website" is pretty much the worst idea for a trading system in the history of all MMORPG's ever. What possessed these devs to think that LEAVING THE GAME was an acceptable method of trading? This is tiresome enough on a PC, on a console it is 10x more difficult and painful to do as they try to type in a browser using a CONTROLLER.

I believe this trading system should be nominated for the worst idea in video games of the year, decade, and century, simultaneously.

Aside from the ridiculously difficult to use trading system, the trade itself can only take place if BOTH players are online and in the same map...how ridiculous can you be? A game that is open to all time zones across the world but if you want to buy something from another player they need to be awake and online at the same time as you even if they are located 4000 miles away.

There's really not enough bad I can say about this system, you might as well have no system at all.

Go back to vanilla PoE trading, you're drunk.
i'd prefer an automated auction house i have some social anxiety towards this (got scammed 20 years ago on d2 when i was a kid and i think i haven't recovered yet) if the price is fixed should be simple give the item to the buyer give the alch orbs or currency to the vendor and that's it.

I used to enjoy social aspects on rpgs but i feel in 2025* people prefer less interaction given the tool exists, bidding and offering made more sense years ago when you had to make banners of your stash or show the stuff in trande window for buyers to evaluate but i feel with a very limited of scenarios you don't need to say a single word with current system and it's too time consuming to resume your gameplay because someone whispers he wants to trade.
Trying to buy a ring that is in high demand is the most horrible experience ive ever had.
Even buying simple items is a massive chore as folks dont respond or you waiste 15 to 30 minutes to get a deal done.

For 3 days straight iam watching the website doing live tracking and pushing F5 keeping my mouse at the whisper button to instandly whisper that person.

Not kidding think ive whispered +- 750 people and zero luck.....

Ive waisted so much time that iam about to give up on the game.

You never get that close to perfect drop so you need to buy items wich are in high demand.
Its mandatory to progress your journey to harder contend.

Its 2024 soon 2025, why isnt there a market / aucktion house / Store in Hideout to or a simple way to buy items ?

If crafting gear would be an option wich it isnt as you are gambling for stats wich is close to imposible to get right then it would be diffrent.

But both Crafting and Buying / Selling is a complete disaster and i reckon tons of feedback is already given on the matter.

Just tried again for a few items and waisted another hour of my time to people who do not respond....

GGG look into this mess and change the way how we buy things from other players.
Nobody got time to try and buy a few items that takes hours or days to buy and progress your character
I used to LOVE trading in PoE 1 on my PS4, was actually one of my favorite things about the game, just buying and reselling stuff to generate currency.

Sadly I started playing PoE 2 two days ago on my Xbox S, with the 64€ pack to support the devs, and the trading thing is the worst crap I've seen in years.

Nothing like trading in PoE 1, where I could just leave the game online in a town with my items listed while I searched in-game for items to buy or make offers.

In PoE the whole experience is TERRIBLE, doing it outside of the game on the phone, with constant errors when trying to whisper, then having to physically visit the same town/group where the other player is, etc.

Just horrible, I want to buy a damn bow and ice ring for the Act 1 boss and the entire process is just so long and annoying that makes trading not worth it IMO.

Problem is that eventually I'm probably going to be stuck because I can't find a better weapon and my DPS is too low (regardless of being a veteran that knows about builds) or not being able to get resistances high enough because there's no streamlined process to get your rings or amulets...

Literally my only complain about the game is the HORRIBLE trading experience.

Dude its beta the Auction isnt in the game yet

And never will be. Unless we convince them to make one that currently, they do not want to make.

PoE1 has gone it's entire lifespan with trading working the exact same way it currently works in PoE2. No auction, no anything, just players have to message each other and meet up. GGG does not want to proved an in game function of any kind.
If you want them to, we have to convince them they're wrong.

Sorry but MASSIVE no.

Trading on PoE on my PS4 worked perfectly fine.

Trading on PoE 2 on the Xbox in a freaking HORRIBLE terrible annoying experience.

I'm not asking for anything magical, just being able to trade in PoE 2 the same way I did in PoE 1, same system, same everything, no action house, just copy/use the same system they already had working properly for PoE 1 instead of this atrocious crap they've implemented for PoE 2.

I'm enjoying the game a lot but I kinda regret supporting GGG with 64€ because of just how awful trading is.

Trading is ok on pc version - what op wants are more comfort features; however that doesnt mean that the trading itself is bad in PoE2 - it works and that flawless.

Agreed, the current trading system is a a ds, totally waste of time.
most of time, you just end up DM 100 players and none of them replied.
One of the few things in this game that is trash.

Either have a mail system or auction house in game.

I guess his theory must be working though when you go on the trade site now and see shit for 1-50 divines….
Having a trade site integrated outside the game (yea.."integrated" used loosely here) could be taken as temporary step ..hopefully not permanent.

It breaks immersion and the constant log in out is a hassle.

For such a LIVE service, an AH (auction house) is best and only way forward.

I'm not sure if the lore exists of a 'central bank' authority for Wraeclast.

ATM there already are price fixers who never had intention to even sell off their postings. A short while later their postings disappear, don't exist, or when you get lucky to get a reply "Sorry sold." In reality, you just get /ignored or blocked 😉

With a AH system, when implemented right could eliminate all these issues and make it a fairer , maybe dare i say self regulated / moderated platform that doesn't risk automation that will VERY SOON plague the current forum system.

Posting fees @ the AH will incentivize the value of Gold , and limiting a "canceled" trade will also incur penalties or even a time limit / minimum before one can delete their posting. You can post your item for X amount of days, and the % of Gold Cost goes with it. (gold cost being non refundable)

One can set an Open Bid or a BIN tag with it, for instance.

GGG - if you read this - For consideration. 📝
