100k left your game GGG

"
The dropoff is literally not a problem. PoE2 could lost 300,000 players and still be profitable for 15 years. I see so much doomerism from people who know nothing about the industry, and have no idea how hard it is to build something. GGG is trying to create one of the best games ever. There's going to be a ton of jank that needs to be cleaned up in early access. The rate at which they are pushing patches and hotfixes is impressive. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone move faster.

Two things can be true at the same time:

(1) Many parts of the game are frustrating and unbalanced
(2) Many people complaining are impatient, and are being verbally abusive to the devs.

Don't worry yet. Baldur's Gate 3 was in early access for years. It will take a while to turn this into a masterpiece.

Yeah. I never stated there wouldn't be fixes, more content, upgrades and changes.
I made very specific criticism, I don't see why it is so hard for you to contend with those, rather than diatribe about generalities.

"The dropoff is literally not a problem."
I'm not sure the shareholders share your nonchalant view.

I'll grant you that there was going to be a drop off.
I'll grant you that GGG expected it.
I'll even grant you that they will make a game that is profitable.

None of these things are the topic of my comment at all. I don't understand why this is so difficult to understand?

If 100.000 people quit, sure it might not be a huge problem, nor unexpected, but if GGG knew that 25.000 of those would still have played if they changed ascendancies, isn't that both important, valid, and something they should have done something about?

You also seem to forget that all of those 100k people paid money for it. Saying GGG has no costumer responsibility is beyond horrific.
Of course they should try to make their costumers happy.

I don't understand why they don't want the campaign to be fun for everyone I mean you have endgame to put all the one shot boss battles, let new players learn to play their character and maybe even have some fun too lol. Not every build starts out as a juggernaught of death!

some of your bosses in the campaign are way too punishing the end boss in the graveyard act 1 is one example with his huge cone attack that stretches for miles and deals way too much damage and passes through walls, he isn't even an act boss..

My current run has had the worst RNG ever and its a slog. I am starting to mumble in the back of my head that I could be playing a game that is actually fun instead of banging my head on the wall with every pack of monsters.

This is absolutely regular retention for CONCURRENT player numbers rofl. People really need to stop pretending they're gaming analysts.

They're trying to use this 'data' as leverage to get the devs to make the changes they want. aka making campaign easier and getting their ascendancy points without effort
sure the trials were hard but had no problem clearing all 4 before they were made easier. I think most ppl just didnt understand how honor worked really and didn't care to find out. Expecting the trials to be near the same level of difficulty as where you are in the campaign is probably exactly what ppl thought they would be but that wasn't GGG design choice for whatever reason. Tons of ppl hated doing lab but you were forced to as it was the only way. We don't know this will be the only way to get ascendancy points, and it probably wont be. Having a handful of ways to get ascendancy points would be great ultimately.
100k so far...

People are keen to overlook that because they want to ride GGG like a pogo d---.

Let's see what happens in 1 month; 2 months; 3 months from now. I know what I suspect; but I don't want to set off the pogo d--- riders.
BG3 was in early access for *4 years*. You wanting everything to be perfect in *2 weeks* is, um, overtuned. A lot of people on this forum are wound way too tight. The game is fine -- more than fine, it's in amazing shape for its age.

Elden Ring and New world does not have lasting end game, and both games took about 50 hours to finish, maybe a bit more.
They both increased player numbers the entire first month, then shrunk after 2 months.

POE2 has an endgame with about 200+ estimated hours of endgame by GGG's own admission.
They are bleeding players after ONE WEEK.

Apples are not oranges, but I suspect you think both are the same.

New World is MMO, made to be played as long as possible > lost 600k players after a week. Elden Ring stands on its replayablity. How many players Diablo 4 lost? Your argument is stupid because it shows completely something opposite than what you try to tell. 100k players is nothing. Its shocking how little that is considering what game PoE2 tries to be. PoE1 leagues tend to have such drop offs. You dont even know how many players play it only for story. I bet most players dont even know wtf is Sanctum.

God you elitists are all the same. You all share a brain cell or something? No, we don't want an easier campaign, make it SHORTER. No, we don't want no-effort ascendancy points, we just don't want this RNG hell to be the gatekeeper. It isn't fun. There are a lot more people saying it isn't fun than elitist pricks, lick you, clanging their "GIT GUUD" bells. If you stopped ringing it for a few seconds, maybe you could offer some possible alternatives. If not, leave the feedback section and stop commenting.
