Why cant we get a proper self found with higher drop rates?
" This guy is the reason why, you have to understand the tribalistic roots of poe as a reaction to d3. Since d3 went SSF (this made it 100x better by the way), anything even sort of related to d3, even SSF, will receive a negative reaction by the tribalist defense mechanism. You also have to understand the elitist roots of poe1. This game is made by mostly d2 traders. They don't care about the single-player experience, because it's always been very easy to cheat in d2 single player. These elitist mindset is to only care about trading the big, bombastic items worth real money. Also, a lot of people run bots and make money off this game. They will fight to protect their cash stream. Finally, people are happy to be little npcs running on a treadmill against 12,000 bots every league for some reason, even though they WILL cry for a new league every 3 months or be unable to play the game. You won't pry the trade from their hands even though that's the thing that kills the game every single time. By the way, to all the people saying "ssf is a challenge mode," well that's certainly your opinion. I never played ssf to brag or as a challenge, it's simply the principle of it. As soon as you start buying items, the game gets boring fast. You no longer care about decent ground loot. You care about div/h. And why do I want to compete for that with 12,000 bots? I just want to play the damn game. Last edited by b_ko#7756 on Jan 25, 2025, 8:03:41 AM

Another problem is that these low life [Removed by Support] farmers are actualy making real money.
They are selling and buying and manipulating with real money aswel. When your favorit streamer goes offline and then apears the next day with a perfect item or a perfect 3 modes base where did you think he got it. OH GUYS LOOK WHAT DROPED FOR ME WHEN I WAS PLAYING OFFSTREAM. <.< bombasticsideeye Guys i was playing offstream last night and a mirror droped for me. BTW the streamers of POE have Traders who they pass the items to. They trade for them and they also manipulate the market. Thats theyr job thats the main thing they do all day. So no. I dont think game is going to be SSF. Theres money to be made. Last edited by Markus_GGG#0000 on Jan 25, 2025, 8:14:52 AM

The real question here is why should they increase drop rates? If you don't want to trade in a game that is designed with trading in mind that is a problem you need to solve yourself.
You are given the tool to solve the problem of lower rates in the form of trading with other players. If they increased drop rates in SSF mode they may as well remove trading altogether because nobody would play trade league anymore, and I suspect they would lose more players than they would gain. |

" No, it's a problem the devs need to solve or at the very least communicate. I'm so sick of this constant victim blaming towards consumers from people who get upset that someone is rightfully criticizing the thing they've chosen to p*ss their life away with. This is an arpg, so first and foremost a game about leveling up a character, and equipping it with loot you find or craft. Tell me, where on this website does it tell customers that this is a game with "trading in mind"? https://pathofexile2.com/early-access I'll wait. We don't need drop rate increases though, just systems to craft that aren't balanced around sctrade.
Or even having a real crafting bench for ssf. I could settle with a lot of small changes but when everything is balanced around trade league its just not as exciting. |

For all the people trying to buff SSF drop rates by ten thousand percent and turn it into the de facto Standard Mode because they despise trading:
Do you also despise unique items? Or rare affixes in gear, with 'rare' meaning "esoteric and very difficult to find, unlikely to ever be seen"? I wanted to try the Falling Thunder Invoker build. To make it work properly, I needed a Call of the Brotherhood and a Serpent's Egg. Chunk of exalts later I had both items and could try the cool thing I made the character to do. If I had been forced into SSF instead because the ultra ridiculous drop rate buffs everybody wants in SSF would make it the only way to play? I would NEVER be able to play that character. It could take multiple years for both the ring and the amulet to drop in the same league, if they ever do. SSF is sheerest poison to people who like making and/or playing intricate builds - y'know, the actual entire reason to play Path of Exile instead of literally any other game. I know SSF Bros like to say "well just play trade then, forehead!" but let's be real. Let's dispense with the nonsense for once - SSF Bros want trade excised from the game forever. It's the reason they keep pushing for a level of loot buffs that would make playing the game any other way an exercise in self-defeating idiocy. They don't care about making it completely impossible to assemble actually interesting builds, all they want is the Dropamine from Finding Awesome Loot. They do not care in the slightest what kind of character they're playing so long as it provides an endless source of Dropamine. Builds mean absolutely nothing to SSF Bros, ONLY the Dropamine matters. Not everybody cares about Dropamine, guys. Some of us play the game for other reasons, and would like to continue to be able to do so. Last edited by 1453R#7804 on Jan 25, 2025, 9:11:24 AM

Bringing boosted rates SSF items to trade league is not a good reason not to boost SSF.
Last Epoch showed how you fix that very easily. You just make items obtained in SSF league tagged as SSF and cannot be traded. |
|
" That's why OP said to NOT MAKE SSF MIGRATE-ABLE. Can you not read? And trade is already broken AF, so there really wouldn't be an impact, anyway. |
|
I don't play SSF simply because I see no reason to.
It has all disadvantages of regular leagues, with no upsides. Having absolutely zero drop rate increases in SSF is stupid. Just don't allow the transfer of characters from SSF to Standard/HC, problem solved. Increasing Field of View in PoE: /1236921 Last edited by Shajirr#2980 on Jan 25, 2025, 9:16:15 AM
