So, is this an exert from your dissertation for your PhD in Game Design? No? Strange, but I'm sure the company that has been successfully developing profitable games needs your condescending thoughts.

So the very basic concept of gaming experience doesn't mean anything to you?

So what you're saying is that anyone without a PhD in "game development" or whatever should just let the devs do whatever they want and praise them for everything because "they're experts"?

Wow... just wow man... just wow...

Sorry, but having extensive experience on hundreds of thousands of hours playing the best and most successful gaming titles of all time and knowing what made them great is worth A LOT...

Sorry but someone that has driven a Ferrari for years can give A LOT of good feedback to a mechanic that has a PhD but is building a Volkswagen...

There's a reason Ferrari is paying Lewis Hamilton 80mil dollars a year for the next two years... and it's NOT his current driving ability, it's his KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE because the mechanics and the engineers on their own are NOT ENOUGH!!!

Experience as a player has nothing to do with experience as a developer. Players are often the worst source of ideas, because their experience is that of ONE person and want what is best for that ONE person.

What you did here is not feedback, it is declaring the developers to be idiots and you are the only one that knows what fun looks like.

And yes, companies often pay famous people that are semi-related to their field so they can then use that persons name and say they made it.

Just stop... just goddamn stop!!!

The experience of the customer is waaaay more important than anything else in any job, in any market anywhere and everywhere!!!

The experience of the player is NOT important?????

Are you kidding me???
Well, i personally found POE 2 highly distracting and annoying to play. Starting with the not to avoid dodge roll movement. Honestly, whoever invented this needs to be fired. POE 2 was the promise of an improved POE 1. Instead we got fewer from everything good in POE 1, nearly all fun parts removed, and plenty of all the nasty things in POE 1 that everybody hated. One shots, ugly movement speed, pay to win and so on.

But looking at the players values people seem to be happy. Now go figure ...

I'm having a blast.

I'd mainline the game if it was possible.

Sucks you aren't having fun OP, but that's a you issue.

The players that are "happy now" are not PoE players... they're hype train players... the moment the next big thing comes out they'll all be gone...

Monster Hunter Wilds is coming out in 2 months... just a quick example...

The moment the next Black Myth Wukong hits or the next Elden Ring, PoE2 will be crickets...

Cause PoE fans are leaving the game because they're tired of playing Ruthless 2.0
Yeah, we two know. Now tell it the players too ^^

For GGG it does not play a role as long as they can generate their income. That's where my hope lies. I cannot see how a league will ever work with the current concept.

No it's not... I actually have a basic understanding of the concept of good video game design...

The fact that you don't understand the basic concept of rewarding the player for playing the game is not my fault, it's yours...

The fact that you enjoy not being rewarded for playing and playing this stale thing because you've been groomed by modern gaming industry into believing that this is "challenging" is your fault for being brainwashed into thinking punishment and being treated like shit is fun...

In mental terms it's called masochism and it's generally not the best mentality for life...

Go look it up!!!

Maybe you need to read my post again.

I did not say that players experience in the game is not important, I said experience of playing games does not make you a game designer.

I have a lot of experience being inside buildings, that does not make me an architect. I can explain what I like about a buildings layout and what I don't like, but it does not mean that I can design a building that would be functionally and structurally sound.
The famous henry ford quotation jumps immediately into my mind here.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”

That's the difference between being a user or the manufacturer.

However, GGG invented a car with POE2 that drives a bit rough for some. So i understand both sides here.

Good quote and analogy.

My wife likes cars that are high up, such as jeeps, I personally do not like them. She has a jeep, I have a coup. Neither car is better (well, her's might be if she'd let me use it to go camping... but apparently her jeep doesn't like getting dirty).

Hey, exiles! As a reminder, please do not personally attack one another. The forums are for civil, constructive discussion of the game. I've had to remove a number of posts from this thread that have breached the Code of Conduct and if this behaviour continues we may need to lock the thread.

People are attacking each other because everyone wants different things from PoE 2 and you are keeping us in the dark about who will get what he wants and who — unlikely. As the result, many people who doesn't like the game still sticking with it and demanding to make it a different game.
